Hey Folks,
The biggest fallacy (or one of the biggest ones, anyway) in the indie music scene today is that you can take your career to the next level without the help of a media specialist. The contact names change so fast, keeping up with who is in charge of what at the magazines, newspapers and web destinations is a full-time job in and of itself. You really must hire someone to help you work your new CD, help get you exposure in tour markets outside of your home base and just generally assist in building buzz. Who better to have on your side than a seasoned music journalist who jumped the fence into PR - someone like myself that knows what it's like on both sides of the field.
Check out My Website - email me with any questions. Don't let anyone tell you differently or fool you into thinking this is something that you should take on by yourself - you need a publicist helping you along. Anything else, quite frankly, is sabotage. It's hard enough for practiced professionals to get the job done well! Regardless, it's also a very necessary step in moving your career forward. Results may not be instantaneous, but building a foundation is a supreme value... and you've got to start somewhere.
I'm looking to add some new artists to my roster this fall and winter, and I can try and work within your budget. Be in touch,
Christopher Treacy
