(the art, in all it's hugeness, is at the original thread. Of course now I realize that I can only count up to 17, it seems!)

...and some random track notes

2. I was not looking forward to this recent flurry of singles... but it's some of the best stuff they've done since Wish.

4. I'd call the Chameleons "underrated", but I think "criminally ignored" is a better way to put it ...

7. I cannot become sick of this song.

8. From the "Logan's Sanctuary" album - a soundtrack to a ficitious "Logan's Run" sequel.

9. Another Jim Thirlwell project.

10. Yeah, Suzanne Vega, I know. I'm surprised, too. But I heard this when recently re-watching "Homicide" and had to find out what it was. Catchy as hell and not what I expected were I to hear the words "Suzanne Vega"...

13. You can tell that I organize my CDs alphabetically, huh? A total lazy impulse when reaching for the Jesus Lizard disc...

14. Heard these guys (+girl) on 'ZBC last year and wish I had heard about them sooner...

17. From the "The Big Gundown" - Zorn's tribute to Ennio Morricone. There was also a vocal version w/Mike Patton, but I like it better as an instrumental...

18. "Exile In Guyville" is over-rated, and actually kinda sucks except for a few songs. "Whip Smart", on the other hand, had some pretty awesome stuff that never gets talked about.

....not a very profound one sentence response, but honestly, listening to this, the mix had the not-easy ability of making me feel like I was in outer space, thus without gravity, dreaming, and casually spinning and swirling. Was that your intent?

A fairly pleasant experience! A good amount of "funny" outer-spacey keyboard sounds were heard, which I enjoyed.

From memory, songs 1, 7, 14 and 16 stood out. I didn't have the track list handy at the time. And I may have missed a few others.

So, I had to drive to Vermont late at night in a fast car to go to a funeral........I had ingested way too much caffeine, This mix fit perfectly!

Could have been... I approached this a bit weirdly. I have a notebook that I jot down bits and pieces of different mixes whenever something "clicks". Some are themed, others are songs that just sound good together. This started as a few small clusters of similar songs, and then me trying to find songs to adequately segue between those clusters.

Thanks!

Re: track 7 (the Flaming Lips track), yeah it's one of the greatest songs I've heard in freaking forever.

hey, good job man!

I LOVE a bunch of acts on hear already so much, FANTOMAS especially : )

JESUS AND MARY CHAIN were awesome

John Zorn is a genius...

now I love noise....but sometimes I thought my speakers were ripping, you like the fuzz tones going on... : ) Normally i do to, but since I was hit by lightening and hadda get my speaker controller replaced I'm nervous : )

In some ways this is the OPPOSITE of UNDUDEs mix, but also just as great in many ways. (both even have film music ST like sections)
