tell us about track 23 please

ohh just a song by my silly old band that never got a real recording.

i was hanging out with Brenda & Gary (Tara White) at their space & they offered up using their little digi recorder so i could just lay a copy of it down for shits & giggles.

.. can hear the live version of it on The Mess Me Ups myspace, from the infamous Abbey show with The Victims last x-mas, featuring special guest 3xxJim on drums.

Nice!! I look forward to enjoying that!

Brenda is quite the drummerer! We've done some experimental recording, so we have that in common that we've both played with her : )

I'd like to jam with the Tara White at some point. And anyone else for that matter!

I love stuff like this in the mix trades!

a fine mix : )

I felt though that I needed perhaps a shot of testosterone or maybe a glass of raw eggs and worcesershire sauce after listening to it all : )

First listen was while I was owrking, I had had to play the last track a couple more times, i really liked it. My wife liked it to, and not knowing it was from a Noiseboard mix was wondering about it. She thought the meolody was infectuos and the lyrics were compelling "what is she singing? - I'm in love with something i'm in live with something" so I checked and saw that it was YOUR track...and I told her it was I'm in love with a terrorist"

EXCELLENT song, someday you should get together with them TARA WHITE folks again!

does the 1st track cut off for anyone else?

the mix was a bit too garage/female-dominated for me, to be honest. could have lived w/ a single song from Bitch School. the inclusion of Thee Headcoatees was nice, and i liked the Dresden Doll's cover of the Psych Furs song.

listened to this earlier but just got back on the net today so sorry for the delay.

loved this mix. pretty much loved the whole thing but here are a couple of the stand outs.

the "teenage kicks" and "pretty in pink" covers. "pretty boys", "chick habit" and my fave song from the comp is " beat beat". would love to hear more from beex.

my only complaint is the disc skipped quite a bit. it might have added to the charm though.

Not going to lie, this song randomly gets stuck in my head all of the time. Great riff and catchy chorus.

fuck, i almost forgot to mention how much i dug the jessie drastic/tara white track. reminded me what i loved about the mess me ups.
The Undude
Made me want to get drunk and play the scene scoping for trouble and a sweetheart who like to get her ass spanked. Probably not the intended response, but when the feeling gets you...
