there's some band w/a female singer, they have like a 5-letter name, been at it forever (i'd say at least 15 years) & have still played fairly recently, but can't recall the name to save my ass... the singing is mostly this obnoxious atonal whining thing... anyone know who i mean?
i seem to recall Aunt Helen being pretty awful... i'll think of some others...

What's wrong with you people?
SORRY - really? you fuckers must have never seen them live
BOSTON - classic rock from the roots on up, but played with a lot of heart.
NEW EDITION - okay, maybe BELL BIV DEVOE showed what they really could do.
STOMPERS - Sal Baglio *still* rawks harder then most
BLAKE BABIES - are you freaking crazy?
G LOVE and SPECIAL SAUCE - my ears hear something different my friend.
NEW MAN - saw them at the Channel, they were okay, far from "worst"
STOCKLAN - ya gotta admire them for stickering prowess alone.
I know I shouldn't get worked up over a parody thread, but c'mon - there is SO MUCH WORSE music out there than ANY band mentioned here.
my list -
Count Viglione (I respect his producing skillz though, embararssing to watch on stage with a cape and stick)
G.G. ALLIN (I respect his viewpoint (even though it led directly to his own death), but the music and songs sucked. Mostly.)
DOUBLE TROUBLE - I have never heard them but saw a poster for this duo in a pub in Dorchester last week.....VERY lame to name your band the same name as another band.
DOC NANCY - can't take more than 2 minutes of
whatever band that had Chip Z'Nuff - ENUFF Z'NUFF???
hair metal bands from anywhere unless they take the music in a unique direction but by definition usually don't.

The sax player, Bob Gay.
Management told him that no one would take someone named "gay" seriously, so he changed his name to "Robert Homosexual".
He's on RKO, late night--when people say "I like Savage Homosexual", that's what they mean, man.

Orchestra Luna: I never heard this 70s band live...just the record. One of the worst records I have ever heard.
3 through 5:
Any band consisting of a bunch of recent Berklee graduates who are condescending to do a set of rock, even though it's slumming for them. Lots of solos.

Orchestra Luna: I never heard this 70s band live...just the record. One of the worst records I have ever heard.
I got dragged to see them in the middle of nowhere (The Rusty Nail in Sunderland, since burned down) by friends with whom I usually shared tastes. After an hour or so of awful Broadway rock, they announced that they would be back after a short break and play for two more hours! I walked up and down the country road where the club was located for quite a while...

Harlequin was pretty fucking awful.
The Lemonheads were extraordinarily sloppy in live performance.
Even the Lyres were wretched when Monoman was having an off night. I remember a Halloween 1986 show at T.T.s that was pretty terrible.
On the other hand, I've never seen a bad show by Big Dipper, or the Pixies (in their original incarnation), or the Volcano Suns.
And one of the best sets I've ever seen was the Neighborhoods in 1987.
