Yes. When I would fly Delta Song it was the best price:booze ratio of all their drinks. Any drink was $5 and included one nip of booze plus mixer. The Mantini was just two nips of booze on the rocks. They weren't *that* bad and 4 or 5 of them set me up for a nice nap the rest of the flight

We don't worry what people think of us, since we're secure and we know we're all man. We don't have to drink those nasty drinks that taste like alcohol. I go to places that have old-fashioned blender drinks with cream: almond joy, pink squirrel, brany alexander...anything I want!

Is a Manhattan manly? I know some people consider it to be, but I've only seen old women drink them. How about an Old Fashioned? A lot of places won't even make those and just hand you a jack and ginger.

To get those kind of drinks made right you need to go to a bar that's at a steakhouse or in a good hotel. Andrea at the Plough also knows how to make drinks like that.

I've somehow still never been to Plough. A trip may be due this weekend...

The guys over at The Fours in Quincy make a mean Old Fashioned. Still, every bartending school in town teaches you how to make one. They're easy and quite good (and manly).

The thing is it's considered bad form to ask for anything other than a shot, single mixer drink, or beer at a dive bar and that's kind of carried over to the rock clubs.

A lot of "lounge" type places will make those drinks but add a "creative" touch and ruin the drink, possibly in hopes of being featured in Stuff at Night.

Martini..... Gin, splash of vermouth, olive or onion.

Agreed on the Old Fashioned/lounge/hotel sentiment. Unless it's on their drink list, they'll probably get it wrong.

When I was a security guard I used to work the night shift -- 10p - 7a -- and we used to hit the 99 at 10:30a after we got outta work. Usually the place was full of guards and nurses.

I don't have any idea, but this scotch on the rocks I'm drinking at home is pretty good.

The illusion of 'free' doesn't hurt the taste any.
