Isn't this a great song? I used this one too..

This CD is such fun! I listened to this one yesterday and logged on to comment, but you hadn't started your thread yet. I'm fuzzy on the details right now so will need to give it another listen, but the Eddie & the Hot Rods song is irresistible. Great Stiff Little Fingers track, and if I'm remembering correctly, I think the Exploding Hearts and Tweezers were other highlights for me. Definitely a CD I'll be popping in when I need to shake off a bad mood.

Haven't listened yet, but - what are the odds that there would be two Secret Affair songs in the set of mixes?

What are the chances of that. It must have been cool seeing them.

Thanks guys. I wasn't too sure about this mix so it's nice to hear some positive feedback. And yeah Ack, the Kidnappers are killer. I thought we might dup them as well as the Suspicions.

so far the coyote shivers is my favorite. i don't know why because it's sorta a mess of a song but i love it.

also nice job on secret affair. i've been looking for a copy of that for a while. hot jams.
coughlin
pretty much everything on here is a chestnut, definitely the catchiest bastard of the bunch so far, thanks!

Thanks, I think the fact that the Coyote Shivers song is such a mess is what endears it to me. I have that Secret Affair album on disc and dig it pretty much.

Thanks, I am into catchy so I'm glad you would use that to word to describe my mix.

MrWhirly, I am disappointed with your mix.

You should've made it two cds like a bunch of these other guys! 23 tracks of some fun stuff, including that Kidnappers track and, of course, the Exploding Hearts. I can't even go into too much detail as nearly every track here left me feeling good. Are many of the bands included still playing around, or is this a collection of bands gone by? Really enjoyable and I'm sure it's won many spins from much of this Noiseboard crowd...

Who is that guy on the front cover? He looks like he's pulling a doo wop move but his attire suggests that he's in the midst of a punk pit dance.

I need some happy fun music after listening and this fit the bill. So many great tunes. I have Phil Seymour on vinyl and haven't listened to it in years. I think it has a purple cover with a head shot of Phil in a striped shirt. Great voice and just a great pop writer.

Loved Dimestore Haloes, Husker Du, Wire, Exploding Hearts. Damn I loved it all. Sugarhigh is awesome by Coyote Shivers.

Now I wish I had played this before I saw you last week. We could have chatted about it. smile.gif

Thanks for the kind words. I usually put older stuff but this time around there was more new. The Kidnappers, New Frustrations and Suspicions are very current and their songs came from cds that came out this year. Tweezers and Clones are newer but are side projects. Beat Angels, Dimestore Haloes and Exploding Hearts are no longer together. I highly recommend the new compilation disc from the Ex Hearts. It just came out in October and is killer. The guy on the cover I got from a punk bands site so I would say he's a punk.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Yeah the Phil Seymour album has him in a purple and black striped shirt in front of a purple and black striped background. Kinda new wavey and I dig it. The album was reissued on
cd last year and is highly recommended. Now if they would just reissue the damned Dwight Twiley stuff.

Don't sweat not being able to shower me with accolades. There's always next time. winkiss.gif

Just thought I would mention for anyone interested in the Exploding Hearts Dirtnap Records recently released a compilation of all their unreleased stuff, singles and demos. I got it and highly recommend it. You can get it for $11 delivered at http://www.dirtnaprecs.com/zzz-32.htm. Great stuff!
