The "final" Superman story. Still fucking genius, even 20 years later. Alan Moore promised, and Curt Swan fucking delivered.

I was blown away with those two issues when they first came out, and that was before I even knew who Alan Moore was.

I'm glad that story was referenced in BATMAN?SUPERMAN (the new WORD'S FINEST comic)
This story was a launching point for the recent CRISIS crossover......the SILVER AGE Superman appears, and he's dressed in teh KINGDOM COME superman outfit.....he returns to his future/hypertime home.....
The whole section of story ot crewed up when teh writer, Jeph Loeb, got busy writing LOST and his son was dieinbg of cancer and issues took longer and longer to come out.....teh CRISIS series was over before the SUPERMAN/BATMAN story even made any sense....

Didn't like Byrne's reeboot.
I guess it's nice for Martha to have a living Johnathan but it seemed to serve no purpose.
Bleh.

Byrne's a blowhard.
Those Alan Moore stories remain two of the greatest Superman stories ever written. In my opionion, he's also written the greatest Joker story ever with "The Killing Joke".
The only person who can even come close to Moore in storytelling ability and sheer imaginationis Grant Morrison.
