I've been looking forward to a Zaxxon mix since the blue/orange paper cover one, and I certainly like what you put together. Perhaps more comments later, but I did want to mention that Hockey Monkey song can also be found on the Zambonis "More Songs About Hockey..." disc. Ok, that's all for now.

I got around to slipping this disc in...I love it. You and Nixie are my front runners, having listened to like 5. Good job - again, lots of stuff I hadn't heard (I'm so sheltered) and I'm appreciative that it has been brought to my attention.
zaxxon
Nice- glad you like it.

I was not aware the bar was to be quite so high with covers... oops.

I have an ORANGE paper cover that no one claimed from a couple of years/mixes ago......

But of course.

like one or two songs on here really got on my nerves, but other than that this was good stuff, as is usually with the mixes you put together. i can tell i liked this because i listened to it more than once.
zaxxon
My life is one big mixed review.

This is a very sweet cd. Very much a singer songerwriter mix. I prefer fast faster and even more fast but I enjoyed it as I really like Jed Parish and the Figgs.
The minimalist cover gets a thumbs up. Seriously I like it.

"1000 People Grinning" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

What the fuck album is it on?
zaxxon
Alas, it was on some 7" comp in the early 90's, only 100 of which were ever pressed as I understand it. You pretty much have to go to the Rosenbergs and Powhidas of the world to get that one.

I listened to this one a while back and forgot to do a write up. This was a weird one - half stuff I loved (including the awesome Nez crooning "Don't Call On Me", half stuff that was ok, and a couple that were really unlistenable. Isn't that "James Kochalka SUperstar" song really by The Zambonis? Or are they related in some way?
zaxxon
I'm curious as to which songs you thought were unlistenable?

The Zambonis was a Kochalka and pals alias.

Thanks for clearing up that Zambonis business.

The one song that I remember really hating was Balshazzar Blues - edless and grating, to my ears. There was another song or two that I didn't like, but I don't recall which now.
zaxxon
Interesting. Conversely, I think Jed Parish shits roses.

HALLO? Testing 1 2 3.

Dude, you should make a podcast before you move.
zaxxon
This is an interesting idea.
