Looks like it will water down most of the elements of true English Football Hooligans.  I just don't trust anything that looks too Hollywood these days.

If they used ALL of the proper slang, the movie would be like a Streets song - you'd need subtitles for American audiences.
*

I have no problem with that at all. They had subtitles for the Quadrophenia film when it came out in 1979. In retrospect thank god they did otherwise it would hav lost a lot of what made it so distintively English.

Nope

Are you sure you dont mean The Harder they Come?

Just put it in the Nextflix queue. About every three months or so someone mentions it and I keep meaning to check it out.

It's not bad, though not exactly great. But a good entertaining compilation of some crazy shit, with Jonsie's input. Oh...and nothing is the fault of the English fans (you'll see what I mean once you check it out).

I wonder how this compares with "Among The Thugs"...which could easily be adapted for a movie.

I jsu saw something about "Hooligans" on IFC(or somewhere) recently. Apparenttly this film has been completed for a while, but they were having trouble getting it picked up in the American market. Had it already been released in England? (I remember Trainspotting having the same problem, and that it was released a good year or so earlier in England).

It's the same one I referenced above. It's nothing terribly disturbing, yet nothing you'd sit down with the family and watch. I just wish it had a better score.
