from the info i've heard, she may no longer be with us.

I called the hospital an hour ago. They said she is in intensive care. As far as I know, she is still on life support.

as awful as this is please don't jump to conclusions about the driver, whose life has now changed forever in the worst way. I hope that she hasn't succumbed to her injuries as posted above but let's know the entire story before making judgements as the account I read says she rode into the path of the car without looking. Think how you'd feel to be behind the wheel - this could happen to any of us on EITHER end...

I hope it's not true and we haven't lost such a great-sounding person but let's not automatically assume the driver was at fault. hopefully the facts will come out and she stays with us. If not, let's sned our condolences to everyone affected........

Terrible news - will be sending good thoughts her way.

I was wondering earlier today whether I should try biking to work during the DNC (since our dean has declared it will be a "normal work week" - though I hear he has a helicopter!), but this kind of stuff happens too often to even the most careful bicyclist.... sad.gif

Actually, I rode by the accident scene on my bike minutes after this happened.

As a matter of fact, a police officer pulled up in his cruiser beside me and told me that he was glad I was wearing a helment. He had just gotten back from Mass General and said that a girl was in bad shape due to her failure to wear a helmet. Of course, at the time I had no idea who he was talking about.

from what i've gathered this sounds like a total accident... just a complete tragedy. this is too much and too awful. it doesn't really sound like she's gonna pull through, though i'm still praying that she does.

my condolences and thoughts go out to jo and AJ and her family. kirsten was one of the most inspiring and sweetest girls in the boston music scene, and she has been in my thoughts all day. the odds of her survival are very slim according to some sources close to her. lets keep her in our thoughts and wish her and her loved ones the best.

Kirsten was taken off life support this afternoon and is no expected to survive the night. I am sure her family, and I know here friends, appreciate all the thoughts that are going out to her. Please keep each other safe and strong and tell good stories about Kirsten - Lady K - because she lived an amazingly full and creative life. Some of you must have some tale about her.

damn. this is just plain awful.
I don't know what to say ...

I did not know her personally, but was quite enthralled with her and her band's live performances the few times I'd seen them.

My condolences and sympathies to all that know her ...

Read below and send your thoughts, memories to Kirsten's parents.

fwd: from <joyivyjoy@yahoo.com>

Kirsten was involved in a tragic accident while riding her bike on Saturday morning. She sustained a severe head injury leaving her immobile. Doctors have confirmed that her head injuries were so extensive, there is no chance of recovery. Her family is preparing to take her off of life support this afternoon and she is not expected to make it through the night.

People from every corner of the country have expressed their desire to help in some way. This means a great deal to her family. They have requested that her friends express their love for her by compiling thoughts, memories ANYTHING that describes what she was to you. Someone shared with me last night they thought that Kirsten lived the life of 20 people. I think that captures her perfectly.

Please pass these sentiments to me as soon as you possibly can.

In the meantime, please take care of each other in this time of grief and disillusionment, i wish i could hug all of you. Get together and reflect on our dear Lady K.

There is no one on earth like her.

Joy

This is awful. I did not know her but I have heard great things about the band and don't really know what to say. I hope that her energy continues to touch everyone no matter what happens.

Cheers to Kirsten.

Kirsten was just always so rad and so positive. She was the kind of person that even a two minute shooting the shit session could turn into a 20 minute discussion of pretty much anything. I remember seeing her around for many many years before I even spoke to her. Really started speaking w/ her when Start! began at Bill's. She was always so supportive of eveything we did and was such a staple of Start and Black Out. When I had doubts about moving to the Dise, she was so very supportive and encouraging of our decision.
I'm also very very glad and proud to have had a Faux song on my label's comp. The Faux have been one of my my favorite bands in town and I'm very very very glad to have been able to have document of them.
I'm really glad she was a part of these two things that have been so important in my life.
Again, my thoughts and prayers go out to her, her family, her friends, the Faux and Ben. She defines "incredible human being."
