A note from The Upper Crust - remember, they are not foolin' when they say they don't know when they will playing again - according to Count Bassie, they will not be doing a NYE show this year... http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Upper-Cr...81654974?ref=ts
Dearest Friends of the Upper Crust- Though My Lords have been abroad on their summer vacations they have not forgotten their bosom companions at home nor their obligation to rocque them steadfastly and with vigor. Thus it behooves me, or rather, gladdens me, to tell you of their next appearance at the Davis Square Theater in Somerville, Ma., Saturday, September 29th, which shall not o nly fulfill their social and artistic obligations but their moral ones as well, as it is in the service of a benefit called Crash Safely. I myself, Bumbles, Secretary and Manservant to Their Lordships the Upper Crust, think it a good thing that, if one must crash, one should do so safely, be it on a motorized conveyance or one propelled by any other physical force (such as a penny-farthing bicycle), or even were one to crash into another object or creature—say, a moose, for people are forever crashing into moose—in the simple act of perambulation unaided by a conveyance of any sort; and anyone who has walked into a lamppost can attest to the inertia generated by the simple act of perambulation… but there, I have lost my train of thought, as I am so often wont to do these days. Nevertheless, this benefit is for an excellent cause and we dearly hope that you will attend. For who knows when you shall see the Upper Crust again? They have become, if I may say, indolent of late, and disinclined to unleash the unbridled force of their rocque and roll with any predictable frequency. But there you have it, they are my Lords, and we can but wait upon their pleasure, hoping furtively that it shall encompass our own. As for yourselves, tell us how you have spent your summer vacation, for we love you very well indeed, and miss you; hoping that you reciprocate the fond affection bordering on heady infatuation that fills our heart… Yours Most Dearly, Bumbles |
