You would have found out faster if you had posted this thread in the
MUSIC FORUM where it was supposed to go in the first place. |

The second Devotions recorded an entire unreleased album, produced by Steve Wynn, that's one of the best things Felice ever did. "Rock'n'Roll Sister," "Runaway Self Destruction Blues"...Classic stuff.

It says The Boston Devotions, I think that is the other line-up, so I guess not. |

Felice had another line-up of The Devotions? Why am I only finding out about this now? Am fairly sure the 1st line-up is the one on this new release (Felice,Mirsky,Hamel and lady drummer) The EP that came out a couple of years ago is the second line-up. Am fairly sure the 1st line-up is the one on this new release (Felice,Mirsky,Hamel and lady drummer) The EP that came out a couple of years ago is the second line-up. The Felice/Stewart/McCormick & McCormick line up was first. Formed shortly after Felice returned from a six or eight month hiatus in Arizona (or maybe it was New Mexico) with a bunch of new songs. The original line-up was Felice & three of The Piranha Brothers: Magoo (bass), Jeebs (drums) & Stiggs (g'tar). Jeebs bailed after a couple of weeks for reasons unexplained. He was replaced by Johnny O'Halloran. After a couple of more weeks the first show was booked (either The Rat or TTs', I forget which one) and Johhny also bailed for reasons unexplained. That's when Dana Stewart stepped in. I think some of the confusion over which line-up came first can be explained by the original Devotions EP/CD (Make it Go Away) being mastered released in 1999, while the 2nd line-up was formed & recording in 1996 or 97. But that's just because the recordings sat on someones' back burner for several years. Just like the 2nd line-ups' recording apparently did. On a side note, three of The Devotions songs (Make it Go Away, I'll Say It & Something Bad) were also recorded on a Real Kids EP/CD, with Alpo, Borgioli, Howie & John. That CD was also released in 1999 & was called Down To You. Shit gets confusing. This post has been edited by stiggs: Sep 3 2011, 10:54 AM |

It's one of the three great albums that Felice has made (with Nothing Pretty" and of course the RK's debut). |
