I've heard even heavy duty trashbags are supposed to work.

Anyone?

if the hill were steep enough and the material smooth enough, a good pair of snopants made a great sled

sledding in a laundry basket in college...

in high school we used the top half of an "es-car-go" top of the car storage thing to sled and sat two people next to each other

also - pieces of cardboard on a steep grassy hill. Sledding with no sled OR snow!

In 9th grade - ohhhhh early- to mid-70's - I went to high school out in podunk NW Colorado. They still hazed Freshmen. The senior guys (think of the "O'Bannion" types in Dazed and Confused) would grab the Freshmen guys and use THEM as sleds to slide down the hill by the football field.
