Every morning at the Dunkin Donuts in Quincy (by La Paloma) there is a guy sitting there talking to himself .... IN SIGN LANGUAGE.

There's a mental health group home on my block, and its residents mostly seem borderline catatonic as they pass by (except for the little middle-aged dude who occasionally wears a homemade cape and Burger King crown and gets kind of noisy with yelps and whatnot, but I haven't seen him in a while so he may have been moved to another facility).
Given their somnolence, they're not particularly colorful crazies. BUT I'm convinced that one older woman who lives up the street from me thinks I'm from the group home, which fills me with such delight that I hope that I never do anything to make her think otherwise, like get a haircut or put on pants. |
