If Letterman had only backed away from Bristol Palin's indescretion the way the media has backed away from John Edward's indiscretion, things would be so much better.

Wait.. WHAT????????? You're comparing random and isolated sociopaths amongst the general population with mainstream media and political pundits!!!!!?????? Ok, you're an imbecile. Sorry. Didn't realize who I was discussing this with. You go back to blowing spit bubbles. I'm going to discuss things with the non-insane. You are INANE. My post from before was comparing the level of craziness on both sides. Crazies for Obama = kill the President Crazies for Palin = she is laughable, unqualified, time to make tasteless jokes about her family. NO COMPARISON. GET WITH THE PROGRAM, IDIOT. |

GET WITH THE PROGRAM, IDIOT. to be fair, there were plenty of crazies who wanted to kill Bush too. The Big difference being, they were isolated whackos who DIDN'T own basements full of Machine Guns, or belong to the NRA or Whacko Right Wing Neo Nazi movements or wilderness Militias. TBK's quote was "Crazies right now talking about assassinating the President " and you wanted examples of that. He wasn't saying "sane, normal, otherwise productive members of society are threatening the president". |

McCain ruined McCain's chance at the White House. He made far more mistakes than Palin did. Christ, after he suspended his campaign and called for a delay on the debate and then reactivated his campaign, I felt very very uneasy about voting for him. Palin never caused me the slightest concern. I'm not going to disagree that McCain was a huge problem in and of himself. Republicans fucking HATE McCain and the fact that he got the nod was a good sign that they wouldn't win. Palin merely came in and threw some more poop in the punchbowl. If she was so awesome and full of political savvy and insight, they wouldn't have had her under wraps immediately after the convention. Hell, she barely could handle sitting down with that political heavyweight..... Katie Couric. |

i still haven't found the part where letterman said the word, or even implied that someone would be raped come on bra...if you 1) Set aside the primary target of the joke (ARod), and 2) Ignore the obvious intended secondary target of the joke (Bristol Palin), and 3) Substitute the intended target in #2 above for the actual person who was in attendance at the game (Willow), then 4) You can then conclude that Letterman was suggesting that ARod raped Willow Palin It's as plain as the nose on your face, bra...you just have to start watching stand up comedy the way "regular folks" do. |

Fuck this useless bitch. Seriously, she's implying that Letterman is unsafe around children:
Sarah Palin "Today" Show Interview With Matt Lauer Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin intensified her war of words with comedian David Letterman on Friday, claiming his controversial joke about one of her daughters had contributed to the "acceptance of abuse of young women" and calling on people to "start really rising up." Appearing on NBC's Today show, Palin also told host Matt Lauer that he was "extremely naive" if he believed the "Late Show" host's explanation of the joke. When Lauer noted that Letterman had not mentioned Willow by name and later denied that he was referring to her, Palin responded, "Matt, I would say that you and anybody else are extremely naive to believe that very convenient excuse of David Letterman's the other day. He took a couple of days for him to think of that excuse that, oh, no, he wasn't talking about my daughter who was there with me at the [Yankees] game, the 14-year-old. Well, I think it's a weak excuse." She added, "I would hope that people really start -- really rising up and deciding it's not acceptable. No wonder young girls, especially, have such low self-esteem in America." Palin said that she could "connect the dots to a degrading statement made about young women, and that does contribute to some acceptance of abuse of young women." Later, Lauer pressed Palin to explain a line in a statement from her spokesperson that "it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman." Lauer asked, "Are you suggesting that David Letterman can't be trusted around a 14-year-old girl?" "Hey, take it however you want to take it," she said. "It is a comment that came from the heart that Willow, no doubt, would want to stay away from David Letterman after he made such a comment. And you can interpret that however you want to interpret it." "Well is that not perhaps in bad taste also, governor?" Lauer asked. "No, it's not in bad taste," she said. "Hey, maybe he couldn't be trusted because Willow's had enough of this type of comments and maybe Willow would want to react to him in a way that maybe would catch him off guard. That's one way to interpret such a comment." Moving on to Republican Party politics, Lauer told Palin that "your name has been on a list with people like Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney," and that she was considered a fund-raising superstar. "Does that translate to you being the future of the GOP?" he asked. Her answer: "Absolutely not necessarily." "You know, I want to help," she explained. "I want to be able to help the cause. And the cause is to get Americans to remember that big government is not the answer. That's not the way that we're going to secure our nation and progress our nation and get our economy back on the right track." |

Good to see that after getting into an embarrassing public feud with a moronic teenager she's intensifying this tiff with a sad old comedian. I'm guessing Putin is next.

I can understand Palin defending her kids. She's offbase and not handling it well, but it regards her kids...
However, this woman has the thinnest skin of any politician in recent memory. Memba the thread of nearly daily griping this woman had- about how unfairly she herself was treated? |

She really has no idea how to deal with the media. Starting a media war with David Letterman is not going to end well for her. In fact, I thought she had the perfect opportunity to win this little tiff with her reply to Letterman's offer to come on the show. "Best to keep my kids away from him" was a GREAT line. She should have left it there, but it's not in her makeup. |

I think the fact that lefties still have to shit all over Palin AND her kids all these months later says something and it isn't good. The reaction to Palin is as viceral as I have ever seen in my 39 years. It is beyond pathetic on some levels. Sure she deserves to be slagged for things like "you can see Russia from my house." But the personal attacks on her and her family are pretty fucked up and often are pathological in their root. My guess is that the attacks will subside when she GOES BACK TO ALASKA AND DOES HER FUCKING JOB. |

She's doing Larry FLynt a huge favor keeping "Nailing Palin" from the ash-heap of history.
