Just got this forwarded to me from Randi. We all knew she had been sick and I knew it was just a matter of time but awfully sad news none the less...

hi everyone,
it's with a very heavy heart i tell you that our beloved jeanne passed away this morning. i left messages for some of you to call me so i didn't leave the news in a message but word is now getting out and i wanted to be sure you know. by all accounts, she seemed peaceful last night after a very agitated day. it's my hope that she just drifted off to sleep with thoughts of the cape, warmth and sun (that we all know she loved so much).

i will send the wake and funeral information when i get it. please let anyone know you think should know..i'm sure bonney and i will inadvertently forget somebody.

Randi

Jeanne was a true friend who had the occasion to prove it.

What a one-of-a-kind, warm, giving, positive woman she was.

And she made the best White Russians ever.

God Bless You, Jeanne.

The "beloved" part of the thread says it all. Jeannie was a total ray of sunshine and truly was liked by virtually everybody. I remember that soon after she began her struggle, she would show up at TT's whenever possible, just because she loved hearing the music and seeing her friends.

Through all the years of hanging out at TT's and playing shows Jeanne was always a constant. A total sweetheart but also a no nonsense gal who took crap from nobody. She will be sorely missed and always remembered... I've known things were bad for a while but always in the back of my mind I expect to see her there whenever I walk through that door and I suppose I always will.

I can't think of many people in the Boston music community as universally well loved and respected as Jeanne was. She gave so many of us a chance when she booked the club and I can't count how many drinks I've been handed over the last 20 years that were accompanied by a patented Jeanne smile and a laugh.

I feel sad. I am really going to miss her.

man, this makes me sad. I was able to hang with Jeanne a few times away from T.T.'s, and many times in it. It was always fun to catch up with her right after soundcheck, before the crowds showed up. I agree with the sentiments of others here that it would be impossible to walk into that club and not think of her.

RIP
