U2 Sucks!!!!.......but they didn't always. Listened to "War" this past weekend, and I can't believe it's the same band. Exactly when did they stop giving a fuck about the music? Was it Pop? Was it before then? Joshua Tree? Anyway, they're pretty laughable now. That's all I have to say about that.

I think the answer to your question is "Zooropa."

I'd say the downward slide began with War, which began a quick spiral into unlistenableness.

I gave up thinking they meant anything right around the PopMart tour. I think I was already wavering by then. I think the last time I geniunely cared about them was with the release of Actung Baby, however, somwhere during the Zoo TV tour, I began to waver. I guess if I'm really pressed, I think they lost it somewhere in the middle of the Joshua Tree tour. When the album was first released, it seemed meaningful to my high school ears but then came the Time cover, the cowboy outfits, the gospel choirs. Ok, I take it back, I think they began to lose it for my sometime around the Fall of 1987.

Under A Blood Red Sky was the high point for me. But I didn't really get disgusted with them until Rattle and Hum.

Rattle and Hum.

This is probably the right answer. Although, I might get technical and say it was seeing Bono in the video for "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".

Seeing Bono has always made me sorry I have eyes. Even in the video for "New Year's Day" he was making insufferable douche-faces. Remember the Red Rocks performance of "Sunday Bloody Sunday," where he solemnly marches out with a white flag? It made me want to kiss Ian Paisley's feet.

I probably agree with this, even though I enjoyed Achtung Baby and Zooropa a bit, but I definitely agree, Under a Blood Red Sky is them at their best.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. The songs they were playing live in that era were pretty much uniformly driving and full of energy (i.e. Electric Co.).

Rattle and Hum.

... could use some editing.

Unforgettable Fire was the last "solid" record, in my opinion.

Under a Blood Red Sky was definitely their peak.
Unforgettable Fire is decent, and I have little use
for Joshua Tree or Rattle and Hum.

I do think Achtung Baby is almost as good as their early albums.

I do have their last two albums, but they seem more like
Bono solo records at this point.

I saw that tour in Worcester .... I enjoyed the show too.

We lit up a joint and the people around us looked at us like we were freebasing speedballs.

Was that the show some lighting rig came down? I think it must have been around April of 1985.
