crank-tones w/the electric logs (and on a nite many shows were cancelled for bad weather, but a pal was willing to risk the drive)... a dream bill by any standards & special kudos to them & the pal for toughing it out

Tons of great memories for me there. One that sticks out in my mind is Lenny and the Piss Poor Boys playing and the power going out midway through their set. They took their stuff outside and played a few songs straddling the city line.

I'd have to say the most memorable one for me was the one where I first discovered Super 400, about 2-3 years ago. A friend asked to meet him there to see the Dents, and since I had been meaning to check them out I figured, "why not".

So after I got there, I was mostly just hanging out, and I wasn't paying much attention to what was going on. Then Super 400 took the stage, and as soon as they started, all heads turned - the band was so good, it was ridiculous!

I will always associate the Abbey with Super 400. I've seen them at least 3 or 4 times there since then.

For me it was either DMZ 2001 or New Year's Eve 2003 when The Rudds did Cheap Trick and Andrea Gillis, Jesse Von Kenmore, and friends did The Cult.

Best show I ever played there was The Takers' two night stand in December 2001. Speedball Baby were supposed to play as well but canceled the week before the shows but people still came out to see us. Fucking awesome.

Let's see. Well seeing the Upper Crust there was fun. The Bags when they had the fake Ozzy dude come out was great. The Unband reunion show. I always had fun when Beefy/DC played on New Years Eve, yea those were good times. I feel lucky to have been a part of that place.

That NYE show was good. I wish I was drumming in The Cult band that night though. Billy Close on guitar = AWESOME!!!

Syl Sylvain was a blast. Especially when cause was very unsuccessfully hitting on Michelle and then she showed up in Portland the next night in the support band. That fucked him all up.
The Replacements tribute night was pretty fucking great too.

My favorite one I played in was Blue Bloods and Sonic Bomb.

Favorite to go to were the Hometown Throwup shows.

Shows I regret missing the most:
-Not getting to the New Bomb Turks before it sold out
-Lazy Cowgirls
-Whatever band The Fabulous Andy G was in when he played there a few years ago
-Showing up too late to get into the Dents last show

Some more favorites:
-Just about every Spitzz show
-Going there thinking Mung was playing, show up to find out the club had been sold and I was looking at an old calendar, deciding to stick around, and seeing the Worlds Greatest Sinners for myfirst time.
-Marvels last show
-Mung shows
-Josh Lederman y Los Diablos having everyone in the place dance
-Jonerik benefit
-Mung dude benefit
-Those 3 years or so where I'd just randomly pop in on weeknights and be pretty sure I'd see something I liked
-Watching game 1 of the 2004 and 2007 World Series there
