we covered pat boone's metal abum, but he insists it was just a big joke (which it is, either way).
but how about this doozie?
impossible to find, and probably just as well.
i have two tracks, both (i believe) from the first rhino "golden throats" comp (which also features such vomitous covers as mae west doing "twist & shout" & jack "sargeant joe friday" webb mutilating "try a little tenderness")

if these are any indication, cabot speaks all the lyrics, set to the most preposterous backing music you could possibly imagine, and which has absolute zip to do with the original melodies.
the ones i have are "it ain't me, babe," and "like a rolling stone," the latter being perhaps the single finest substitute for mind-altering drugs i've ever heard.

the mind fairly reels thinking of all the green-lights this project got along the way.

happy to send an mp3 to any fellow masochists.

why you dissing MR FRENCH???

you mean mr. freedom fry?
maybe he hates america.
anyway, i'm not.
he did a bang-up job looking after mrs. beasley or whatever the fuck her name was, even if anissa jones (buffy) ended up croaked... it was beyond his control at that point.

but one can only assume you haven't heard this, in which case, count your blessings & shaddap.

I get a laugh out of it, whatever that's worth. It's almost like an "SNL" skit, only funny.
You'll be happy to know that this baby's been reissued on CD.

I remember hearing his "Like a Rolling Stone" on Dr. Demento when I was a kid; I didn't know he did a whole album!

Does Dr. Demento still do a show? I haven't heard him around theses parts in about 15 years or so. I know someplace in NH used to broadcast it in the 90's. He's got to be an old geezer by now if he's still alive.
