I sent the cover with the discs, and I'm not even sure of the final track order so this may or may not be correct, but it's close.

Great "background while cooking dinner with a PBR in your hand" mix.

Well done.

for anyone that cares, I took the photo on the cover from the outskirts of Mendoza, Argentina. The Andes mountains are off in the distance, those are the peaks where the plane crashed in the story that ALIVE was based on. Absolutely gorgeous area, supremely tranquil, but when you fly over those peaks and start your descent that feels like the plane is spiraling to the ground & you're gonna die, it is a humbling moment. The feeling of impending death in the midst of such serenity is a mind-numbing experience. Yeah, I'm a dork.

good description. I liked the photo -- I assumed it was either New Mexico, California or some such western/southwestern US location.

not that anyone particularly cares, but I'm taking a break from the mixes at the moment as I just have so much other pressing stuff to do right now. I'll resume listening fairly soon.

I've played this through a few times while surfing the net and I like it. Very solid throughout. All stuff I am unfamiliar with and that's what I'm looking for with these trades. I still need to hear it a few more times to really differentiate each song. At this time the standouts for me are the tunes by Government Issue, The Dictators , The Redskins, The Outlets, X and The Damned. Now I want to listen closely to the last song to hear what he's saying.

thx man, i didn't realize how many rarities were on there.
i didn't grab this or the previous live thing 'cuz i've been broke (and someone promised me copies but wimped out)... i once saw a 45 at a record convention w/a star of david on it, prob the first thing they ever did, i think it was all stuff from Go Girl Crazy!, maybe alternate versions, my friend snapped it right up...

i was lucky enough to see them do mott's "moon upstairs" a bunch of times, as well as seeing them at CB's, so i can pretty much die happy.

that's awesome. I got to see them at the Dise a few years ago so I'm pretty happy. They were great that night too, but I don't think they'll ever play again which sucks. I've gotten way more into them since, and once I got this thing, I listen to it all the time, it's so good. I'm pretty sure it's all early demos, but to me it sounds phenominal, full of raw energy, the way the dictators should sound!

that was the 4-piece, yesch?
i was torn about that one, but opted to go see my pals the electric logs @ midway that nite... 3 sets, $3 and the employee drink discount (at the time)... i felt like kind of a disloyal ashole, but figured they'd lean on the Wild Kingdom stuff (which i'm told they kinda did)... i like that stuff, but it ain't the 'tators, and 'tators songs are really written for two guitars, in my admittedly snobby opinion... but yeah, i hear andy & dick pretty much hate each other now & that their CB's closing set barely happened at all...

but boy, i could talk about them all day... the only band i've traveled more to see is blue oyster cult (theyactually did some bills together when BOC were big, i can't even imagine how great those were)... in fact, they were the first band i ever saw at the rat, so safe to say they basically changed my life... and dick will always be the master of between-song banter...! i even threw some of his own lines from years past back at him one nite in CT & he couldn't fuckin' believe it

I'm pretty sure they were a 5 piece that night, but my memory is a little hazy. Ross the Boss was killing it. I remember a lot of classics & DFFD had just come out and they were pushing that pretty hard.

Seriously though, if you're that big of a fan you NEED to get that album asap. It fucking rules. I fyou don't mind mp3 I could probably sendspace it to you or something.

it runs on your PC

Nice mix for driving!

Trax that stood out for me:

Fireman's Friend by the Dictators of course
Scars by Proletariot
Bright Lights by The Outlets
The Damned track was their "pop"iest line up
Wired to Lose by teh Freeze
and Depression Session was interesting.

all good tracks and well mixed though!

ps - at first I thought Government Issue was going to be a track from Government Mule..... : )

And what does NIFFROTITE mean? I had the CDr coverup in my front seat and then decided to turn it over in case someone peaked in at work and thought NIFFROMIX was a bad slang word for black people.....

NEE-FRO-TEE-TEE or NEE-FRO-TIGHT

That Damned song is their latest single. It came out last year. We have a little black cat named Disaster too. Total coincidence. She gets serenaded whenever it comes on.
