This should work the way it always has before.
Each person starts a thread for their mix, titled with only their user name and anything they would like in the topic description. The thread should have the track listing at the top. These are the only topics allowed in this forum. General conversation about the trade (and bitching about my very slow response time) can stay right here in this thread. Thanks. |

I am still working my way through the stack, but I am almost done with my first listen to each disc. I am in the middle of Whirly's, then I have M. Henry's and the one in the green envelope. Once I have been throught them all, I will post some feedback.
In general: I am glad I did this, it is interesting to hear what you all are into, and this is an excellent chance for me to listen to some music I might not otherwise be exposed to. Of course, there are some discs I like better than others. Next time, it would be nice if more of the metalheads and hardcore folks on NB do this to keep it heavy. Edit: Oh yeah, thanks to Hobot for organizing this, I appreciate it. This post has been edited by Horror Business: Aug 21 2008, 10:09 AM |

first off thanks hobot for putting this together. it's way more of a hassle than i would have put up with.
second. i've only listened to most of two mixes so far. i promise to start listening to more and posting comments soon. i've been a bit tied up lately but i foresee some quality listening time coming up. |

I Have yet to participate in one of these, but this sounds like a great way to get hit with stuff one might not have sought out/stumbled upon otherwise. I'd love to contribute to the next one. How's about everyone who stepped up for this last one list their favorite tune that someone else threw in? I am musically set-in-my-ways to the point of tedium these days. The multitude of XM era/shuffle/genre "stations" are usually like wading through five miles of steaming poop to come across the occasional gem. I could use a little guidance from folks with tastes different (or not, Yo, M. Henry! (And I promise not to get all "Flipper" about stuff that doesn't quite do it for me. Throw me some titles! |

i would love to oblige but i've been terribly lax with this mix. only listened to about three so far.
i used to listen to them on my commute to and from work or on my ipod at work but since i've been laid off i haven't listened to much lately. i do plan on catching up at some time though and love the idea you presented regarding listing a fave tune. My number one discovery from this was from Whirly's mix, it was the Hollywood Brats (some of whom went on to later form the Boys). I since got the whole album and it's awesome. early 70's trash rock ala NY Dolls, but from London. |
