my grandmother had lung cancer in her 60s and they managed to get it out... she lived another 20 or so years before she was diagnosed with liver cancer, which spread really fast - she died within a few months of that diagnosis.
yeah, he's a dildo... but dad died a month ago TODAY. I'm sure in the future i will be able to laugh about it, but right now it's too soon... right now, i can still see him taking his last breath, as clear as day. I can still see the "coffee grounds" mess of stomach acid and dried blood that came out of his mouth the minute he passed. I can still see him staring, vacant yet terrified, into space as we tried to lift him from his chair to his hosptial bed on the last night he was conscious. |

You will remember this horrid period less and less as you make a conscious effort to remember only the good. Certain things/smells can trigger those awful memories, but really I push it completely out of my mind.
