Some observations from someone who listens to a lot of local radio while in the car....
A friend of mine told me to listen to the Weiner Whiner Line because he said it was some good dumb Boston type humor. Now that I spend two hours a day in a car commuting, I have started to occasionally listen. The Weiner Whiner Line does have some humorous calls but for the most part it is pretty overhyped and dissapointing. Also, those guys on the Big Show crack up with every stupid call. Speaking of "The Big Show", what is its deal? These guys not only talk over each other but they simply can't let callers get a word in. It is so annoying. I had to come home early today and popped on the radio. I usually switch stations every time one goes to a commercial break so I had a chance to flip on "Dale and Holley". In my opinion, this show is so much better than "The Big Show". Anyway, I am no expert on Sports radio but it just seems sort of obvious to me. |

I can't take the Big Show any more. I usually listen to Mike Felger on the drive home although he can get a little annoying at times too. |

Dale & Holley is by far the best programming on EEI.
The whiner line is baffling. The 'Robert Kraft' imitator is almost always funny, but most other caller suck. The worst is 'Allah From Everett'..because he talks like Apu and not the A-Rab he's pretending to be. Mikey Adams is a fucking idiot. I turn to NPR after the last call... |

I was listening to D&C this AM because I didn't get a chance to catch any of the post-game reaction. Regardless of the callers' opinions, D&C seem to do nothing but shred the callers apart. I can't believe anyone would wait on hold to talk to those two hitlers. |

Guy makes a list of shit he wants to say and waits to read his list off loudly. Pathetic |

Speaking of NPR/WBUR, I wish Christopher Lydon was still on the air. In its day "The Connection" could be a great show. Granted Lydon was a pretentious twat at times but he had some great shows. I remember he had jazz drummer Roy Haynes on, some good political and scholarly stuff. Anyway, I feel guilty that I don't listen to more NPR because I know it is "good for me". Still, sometimes I just can't take their voices. Something about their know it all tone drives me nuts. Then again, the dopey tough guy sports hosts are even worse on the ears. Anyway, I listen because I am a talk radio junkie. |

And speaking of WEEI, I think it goes without saying that Dennis and Callahan are the two biggest douches going on that station.

I used to think Callahan was the bigger asshole, but since they got back on the air Dennis' quest to show he isn't a homer by bitching about EVERYTHING in Boston sports is now clearly the worse of the two evils. |

I hope they play the segment of Pete Sheppard (sp?) screaming that the Pats are gonna blow out the Colts over and over again. Guy is great at being dead wrong.
I'm sorry, but if you get paid to analyze professional sports and thought that this was going to be a blowout, you should probably wonder if this was your calling in life. |

Kind of the same way that some of them talk about the Patriots being undefeated this year like it is a complete given. Granted, they have an amazing team but nothing is a given. Injuries can come out of nowhere in the NFL and every game has a certain degree of unpredicatablity. |

I have to say that on of the redeeming parts of the Big Show is the fact they give Dennis and Callahan a bunch of shit. I wanted to high five my radio the other week when after Dennis gave SO much shit to Dale and Holley about what Homers they were for kissing Francona's ass during their weekly interview with them-- the Big Show then put together an amazingly awesome montage of Dennis' greatest dick-sucking moments and soft ball questions with his weekly interview with Tom Brady. |

Anybody who's listened to the Big Show more than once and thinks that Pete Sheppard is being paid to be a serious professional sports analyst needs to turn off their radio and take up needlepoint. He's paid to be comic relief. |

He's paid to be comic relief. And it works, he's just a big-mouthed boozebag. The best was when he got suspebded a few years ago for getting completely shitfaced during a Patriots game remote. People say he was drinking Captain and Cokes, and he finished off at least a bottle on his own. |

I enjoyed Scott Zolak's commentary on the BCN postgame show last night. His insights are great when he does not allow retard Gresh to get him off topic.

So is the Menino guy. That's about it. I mostly go with Felger in that spot, but he can be an irritating little putz. How he managed to snare that little piece of ass wife is beyond me. |

He's paid to be comic relief. He fails miserably at that too. I listen to them regularly and up until now have never noticed him to be funny. Sorry, but if you're on sports radio you should know at least something about sports. Or at least stop pretending that you do. Him yelling at the top of his lungs that they were going to blow out the Colts was not funny (which you assert is his reason for being there), nor was it even remotely close to being correct. |

Your reaction is the funny part. The Big Show is one giant farce. You're not supposed to take any of them seriously, unless they have Felger on, because he's the only one who isn't a ridiculous homer. |
