Yeah, fuck these losers:
Firefighter Paul Brotherton 41 Auburn, MA Rescue 1 Firefighter Jeremiah Lucey 38 Leicester, MA Rescue 1 Lieutenant Thomas Spencer 42 Worcester, MA Ladder 2 Firefighter Timothy Jackson 51 Hopedale, MA Ladder 2 Firefighter James Lyons 34 Worcester, MA Engine 3 Firefighter Joseph McGuirk 38 Worcester, MA Engine 3 343 of the FDNY firefighters and paramedics who responded to the attacks on September 11, 2001 lost their lives, and others were injured. Real classy. If your house is ever on fire, maybe local rock will come to your rescue. Come on. I'm sorry your bar is closing, but have some fucking class. |

Fuck the fire department? Are you friggin serious? Whoever thought of that idea, and whoever told them that it was a good idea, should grow the fuck up.
NEWSFLASH - No one is forcing this club to close. They are choosing this course of action themselves. Stop bitching and crying as if "the man" is shutting you down. |

If my band was on this show i would drop out.
God forbid the fire dept actually cares for the safety of others. |

really, i understand you guys are upset about losing your venue but...you could have done this in a bit of a classier way. i hope you never need the services of the fire department, but if you do, maybe think about the fact that you gave them a big "fuck you", huh?

and if you're directing your anger towards someone it might be more appropriate to direct it towards the owner who wont invest in the sprinkler system. the fire departments primary goal is to ensure that shit like the station doesnt happen again. and to stop it quick when and if it does. their intention is to keep *your* peoples safety in mind. you really ought to consider that.

i like(d) the bar just fine & try not to give a shit about such tackiness, but it's also important to note that the fire dept. doesn't enact these laws or even enforce them, per se.
it's also kind of an insult to The Station victims, really. aside from that, i now you gave it your best shot & should be commended as such, but really, drop the slogan if that's really what it is. |

I understand it may be offensive to some that I chose the title "F*ck the Fire Dept".
But honestly, I'm not the patron saint of political correctness. I don't get paid enough to be all wine and roses in this life. I'm about embracing free speech, speaking my mind, and waving my middle finger in the air when I feel the need to. Sure, maybe it's in bad taste. But, honey, controversy sells, and it gets people's attention. No publicity is bad publicity. I'm not exactly in the closet about a (strong dislike for the govt., society, and how it's taking away our enjoyment of life and our freedoms, etc). I'm entitled my opinion, just like you are entitled to yours. I'm not against firefighters...just against bullshit that is costing me and all my staff our jobs. Not cool. Cops, politicians, and city officials should just mind their own biz and let rock and roll remain free and unfettered. Because some moronic hair band shot off pyrotechnics in a nightclub 3-5 years ago, my ass is going to out of work and another great venue supporting non-mainstream genre bands is eradicated. We need to band together and build the scene. Love, ~The Queen of Shock & Controversy, bored of living on the set of Footloose |

Wow. I give up. So, for those keeping score, the government, the fire department, political correctness, and Great White are the reason the Skybar's closing.
Good luck with your "scene", Madonna. Controversy sells, but you've made a total jackass of yourself. That's all. |

Like some people have said, maybe you ought to take it up with owner of the club who doesn't feel like bringing the club up to code with a sprinkler system.
