I'm not in your group, so I haven't heard this, but awesome job including Baby Boy H and Monroe and Watson. Monroe's on my mix, too. Looking forward to hearing all of these mixes on the mp3 collection.

Somewhere along the line, maybe directly at track #2, I was very much wondering what Defbil was up to for this mix. Big pump up from a Public Enemy intro and then... Chopin. Perhaps this is where some sort of history lesson pops in, as I'm wondering if 'Nocturne Op 15 No 3' sent the old Europeans into a frenzy and there was mass rioting and lots of vandalized pianos. Hard to say, either way, decent enough piece before descending into the majestic metal of the Children of Bodom. My ears caught on when the chorus of Baby Boy H kicked in... quite the roar if that's at high volume. What is that, a wall of sound? Whew.
I found that the stretch from Bodom to the Bosstones to be very strong.. enjoyed pretty much every song between. Forgot that the Bosstones could be a lot of fun to listen to. The end of the mix was ok, but it really was the middle that did it for me. I'd be interested to hear how you decided on throwing some of these songs on here, as it really does hit every genre in seemingly random points. Thanks! Edit: Ah, wait, perhaps I should've read the title of your mix a little more closely. This post has been edited by kapow: Dec 3 2006, 06:14 PM |
