Here is another song from our recently released "Against the Grain" CD. Its called "Uni" and is about the trials and tribulations of finding true love and avoiding oncoming locomotives.
Uni by THREE DAY THRESHOLD LYRICS: Oh Uni, I hear that train a comin’ Oh Uni, I think we better leave Oh Uni, Why, you’re a damn fine woman, No matter how you slice it, you’re all the woman I need I fell in love with a girl named Uni Who got cut in half by a train She got one leg, one hand, one eye She’s even got half a brain And how I love, my little Uni With a heart that can’t hold back And the part I loved most of all Is lying on the railroad tracks Oh Uni, I hear that train a comin’ Oh Uni, I think we better leave Oh Uni, Why, you’re a damn fine woman, No matter how you slice it, you’re all the woman I need Gonna ask my Uni, to be my bride Gonna get her a diamond ring I want to take her home to meet my parents But I’m not sure, which half to bring. Oh Uni, I hear that train a comin’ Oh Uni, I think we better leave Oh Uni, Why, you’re a damn fine woman, No matter how you slice it, you’re all the woman I need |

Here are the lyrics for "I MUST ADMIT"; the first song we had posted on here. Its about how hard it is to get your girl out of her house when you want to be at the bar already.
I MUST ADMIT – Kier Byrnes I must admit you look good in black A strapless dress with an open back “A bit too proper or is it too plain?” Honey, it’s enough to take my breath away I must admit you look good in green No finer lady I’ve ever seen “Is the hem too high, the hem too low?” Well, Come on darlin’, It’s time to go! See I don’t care what you’re gonna wear In all honestly, babe, they all look good to me I’m gonna take you out tonight And no matter what you wear, it'll be just right I must admit you look good in blue Designer jeans and designer shoes, I’ll take you strolling down lover’s lane But it’s too late, you disappeared again And I must admit you look good in red Got crazy thoughts stuck in my head Honey babe, put on some clothes (aw no no) Come on darlin’, It’s time to go! See I don’t care what you’re gonna wear In all honestly, babe, they all look good to me I’m gonna take you out tonight And no matter what you wear, it'll be just right I’m gonna take you out tonight And no matter what you wear, it'll be just right I must admit you look good in white I’m lookin’ forward to our wedding night And on your finger a shiny stone That’s only thing I’d ask you keep on See I don’t care what you’re gonna wear, In all honestly, babe, they all look good to me I’m gonna take you out tonight And no matter what you wear, it'll be just right I’m gonna take you out tonight And no matter what you wear, it'll be just right |

CHICKEN SHACK by THREE DAY THRESHOLD
Three Day Threshold regularly plays gigs out on Nantucket at a place called "THE CHICKEN BOX"; next door to it, is a greasy spoon called appropriately enough, "THE HENHOUSE". The local brewery/distillery makes a great beer there called "Whale's Tale" as well as distills Triple 8 vodka. It’s a really fun place if you ever make your way out there. Lyrics: Chicken Shack (Baby’s Got my #) Kier Byrnes Hammer and Spike, Nail and Wood Thought I did everything I could Looking back to the Chicken Shack Thinking that she was gone for good Morning Sun or Midnight sky We can talk every day and night If she comes back to the Chicken Shack I’m gonna make everything all right. CHORUS: Baby’s Got my #, Baby’s Got my #, Baby’s Got my # There’s nothing I can do, The things you said were true And every time you’re in the henhouse, I’ll be passing through Baby’s Got my #..................YEAH Baby’s Got my # The Whale all day, Triple 8 at night Holds it down to the morning light The ferry leaves a little too soon I’m on the phone all afternoon Before I speak, she reads my mind And what I need, I left behind Heavy words that don’t ring true, Don’t call me, baby, I’ll call you. |
