I've got ALL those MAD songs on the TOTALLY MAD CDrom, not sure how to rip them yet though. The problem with the music on the MAD CD-ROM is that they're heavily edited, and they don't sound all that great - I was pretty bummed out about that when I got it. However, I have the MAD Grooves CD (Rhino) which has a lot of the stuff, and it sounds great. And I have the original MAD Disco flexi-disc, which includes the disco version of It's A Gas! A cherished item in my collection, to be sure. I thought about putting that on my mix, but wanted to make room for other stuff. I can post an mp3 if anyone wants to hear that. It's a little beat up, but it's certainly listenable. |

When I first got the Totally MAD CD-ROM home, I went straight to the Jukebox to hear the disco version of It's A Gas, and there was a lot missing from it - it was quite a bit shorter, and the sound was pretty bad. I never bothered to check out much of the other music based on that. I also have the original "It's A Super Spectacular Day" flexi, which I've never gotten around to digitizing. Not sure if that one will play on my turntable. |

It wasn't just your cd, it's all the cds that have the fancy stickers on top. For whatever reason they won't play in my car stereo; I'll just have to listen to them at home or in my Walkman. |

I haven't listened to this yet, but I did want to say that the inclusion of the "Four Yorkshiremen" sketch makes me extremely happy.
I need to wait until I'm in the car for an hour of so to give this a good listen. That way I'll be able to focus on it and nothing else. |

Fellow paper-label-on-CD-person, I'm up to Surfin' Bird. I'm not sure I could make it through all in one sitting even if I didn't keep getting interrupted, but you have some lost classics on your mix. I imagine an appropriate small group of friends, suitable chemical enhancement and beer would make a perfect listening environment.

WAWSOME......
Some tracks I haven't heard in a long time, some I've only heard once (like Stairway to Giligan's Island) that I've been wanting to hear again. So this is the original me na me na song? I like the Sesame Street version a bit better for the energy...... I need to compare the MAD track to what I have on CDrom.....(and I do have the vinyl someplace too.....) SPIKE JONES band were great as always!!!!! |
