Greetings, fellow "Hoodlums"! smile.gif

I've been a Neighborhoods fan for 25 years, since I was about 8 years old. I got turned on to them thanks to my older punk rock brother! The Prettiest Girl 7" is one of my most cherished possessions, and I can't tell you how excited I am to find the web site, and especially to see the video footage of Monday Morning!! WOW, what a great song and what amazing footage! I must have watched it 20 times over the past few days, lol! wub.gif wub.gif This band is something magical. Their energy pouring from that video is just fantastic! Those melodies and harmonies, and the driving bass and drums...wow, just so powerful. I can go on and on about how much I love the Neighborhoods!

I read in one of the other threads about someone who knew a girl who kept a picture of David under her pillow...well, I have had a picture of him on my wall for years. He just looks so damn cool, what can I say! A true rock'n'roller. And when I was little I used to stare at the cover of the 7" while listening to Prettiest Girl over and over and over... laughing.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Anyway, my brother and I will be travelling all the way from Toronto, Canada for the show in March. What a dream come true to actually be able to see them live!! I really, really hope the band plays the original version of Prettiest Girl, and if they throw in Monday Morning I think I will just go nuts on the dance floor.

Well, I won't talk all your ears off, just wanted to express how much I adore the Hoods and yep, there sure are fans outside of the Boston area! smile.gif

Greetings from Dallas.

1. I am interested in the March 17th show at SxSW. I assume a wristband is the way to get in the show as well as several others?

2. I remember Ralph's Diner in Worcester...walking distance from my house when I was at WPI in the early 80's. I saw Black Flag, Husker Du and other bands there. I sat at the bar next to Grant before the show....it was great to mingle with some of your favorate bands.

3. I am interested in trading CDR's. I have 2 unreleased songs from the "Innocence Lost" & "Electricity" sessions (those two were on the recent Ace of Hearts "Wasted Years" compilation. In addition I have "Cultured Pearls" & "Hero". I also have 'Last of the Mohigans", Live "Certain Fate (MofB cover), the 12" "Pure & Easy" (David threw it to me at a show in San Jose).

4. I am also interested in Boston bands from the 80-85 time frame and would trade or purchase. I have one PROBERS 6 song EP but are there any singles? I am missing my BALL & PIVOT ep...just have the jacket. I'm looking for the NEW MODELS 12" "Colors" that came out after "Sight & Sound"...I just have a tape. I have a CRITICAL FEW 45 & an INCREDIBLE CASUALS lp to trade if anyone is interested.

Check out my Boston LPs....I'm looking for MORE:

What's the hard ons for the Neighborhoods here ? I remember them playing a function when I was in school at Belmont Hill and they were kinda shitty. Just my opinion.

Come to a show. Maybe we'll change your mind. If you don't like it, meet me in the parking lot after and we'll settle the dispute!!!

Meaning what ? You'll give me a hummer if I don't like your band ? That may cloud my judgement a bit.

I am no longer worthy...I only have 19.

But in addition to those, I do have all Burma - past present vinyl and CD & bootlegs of live shows I shouldn't mention 'cause I can't share - don't ask, really - I promised the source.

For REAL, only 19...

K2 - can I still call myself a Boston Rocker?

Yeah, everyone bring your cameras. That way we'll get footage from a bunch of different kinds of cameras and then trying to edit the thing will be impossible. Maybe you can do the editing K2? It might be quite the task, but you might enjoy it.

Having footage available is better than NOT having footage available.. I got the hookup though, I can have it done.

Mikey Quaglia was at the show. I had the pleasure of hanging out and talking with him for a while afterwards. I invited him up to the show tonight, to hang out and shoot the shit, if this snow doesn't hold everyone back. Ah, one of my favorite drummers, ever!
