Both my kids arrived this way, I was in the OR and I didn't look. No need to see that...... Good thing is that you get the baby and your lady parts don't get ruined.

I'm psyched but a little nervous. Congrats - my girlfriend just had her first baby last weekend. After 2 1/2 hours of intense labor after being induced they went C Section. She's doing fine - pulling a muscle in her back after attempting the birthing bar was more painful than the incision of the C Section. Its been a week and she said she feels fine and doesn't need much more than motrin. Congratulations - you'll be fine! Besides having a beautiful little baby will make any pain all worth it, and it will be forgotten in no time! |

Congratulations! I had my daughter c-section after 29 hours of trying to go natural with no drugs. I wish I had just planned it that way in the beginning. At first I cried, thought, the one kid I'll probably ever have and I don't know what it feels like to push her out. Then my hospital roommate started talking about her episiotomy stitches and sitz baths and I cheered right up!
Enjoy the 4 days you will get to recuperate in the hospital and let them wait on you hand and foot, it's the last good rest you'll have for a while, although you'll hardly mind. |

Remember it is surgery...be prepared to feel bruised and need time to heal etc.
Is this your 1st kid? Make sure your sig is an active player in all this... |

Excellent. C sections are nifty in their allowance for scheduling childbirth; it's good to teach the little dickenses who's in charge right out of the gate (or rather, shortly before that).
Alien really revolutionized modern obstetrics. |

Good luck, Anna!
This July, my wife watched her c-section in the reflection of the overhead light. I opted not to look, however. So, if you really don't want to see it, wear really dark sunglasses or a blindfold. Or keep your eyes closed. Treat yourself to some nice slippers. Those hospital ones suck. |

Remind your husband not to say the c section looks like the chestburster scene in Alien, even if he really thinks so. that may not go over so well with you, at least while in the operating room.

Don't listen to my husband the c-section looked cool. Though I like blood and guts. I had two of them and it worked out just fine. You will do great! Can't wait for you to post pictures of your new little guy.

Wow, Anna! I can't believe how fast time flies. What an exciting time for you! I wish you and Matt much much happiness with your new bundle of joy. There is nothing more miraculous than those moments when you finally get to meet that teensy weensy new life you've been nurturing for nine months. It's totally natural to be nervous, but try not to be. The greatest moment of both your lives is going to melt all the worry away the moment little guy arrives.
Congratulations! |
