This is an early announcement, but Richie gave me permission to make this official last night.

UNNATURAL AXE (and Mr. Richie Parsons especially!) will be celebrating 30 Years Of Boston Punk (And Beyond!) with a two day show at Church on Thurs 8/21 and Fri 8/22.

This will coincide with the release of a tribute disc to UNNATURAL AXE featuring covers by the likes of The Neighborhoods, The New Frustrations, Bloodhorse, and more (some of which are, frankly, mindblowing).

Many special guests to be announced soon, and details and advanced ticket info will soon follow in the coming weeks.

This is going to be a very good time. I mean, how could you go wrong with these dudes?

Stay tuned...

this is going to be very cool. i am putting the tribute album out my label, Lawless Records. the plan right now is to do a 12" vinyl with a bonus cd. but that isnt etched in stone. we asked as many bands as we could to contribute a song. got a great response. unfortunately, a bunch of the bands who said they would do it missed my april 15th cut-off date. which i then put back until tomorrow but it still looks like a lot of them will not have anything done in time. the bands that are definitely on it are:

splash 4
demolition girl
dim stars(richard hell and thurston moore)
sator
ufo dictatorz
dick dastardly
preachers kids
nasties
sweedish teens
mongrolls
dogmatics
johnny & the reforms
bags
queers
neighborhoods
classic ruins
mighty mighty bosstones
cheetah chrome
bloodhorse
high school lockers
jerrys kids
stranglehold
sleazies
sweet zeros
empty words (ex-plastic letters)
mission of burma
new frustrations

all the following said they would do it or expressed some interest but i never heard anything further from them

tampoffs
mess me ups
boris the sprinkler
tesco vee
bang circus
illegals

Thanks Eric! I didn't know who made the tribute and who did not so am very glad you posted this!

I can tell you that some of the folks contributing to the CD will be playing the two shows (though sadly not, as much as I would like them to put in an appearance, Mission of Burma).

Final line-up will be posted once I have it from Richie.

We are incredibly honored to be able to do this. I am frankly excited beyond belief.

I am trying - repeat TRYING - to get Thurston Moore to come and show up. I will keep trying until I get ahold of him and he either says sure or tells me to fuck off and die.

What's he got to do with Boston rock 'n' roll (or any ROCK 'N' ROLL)?
