Darkie or Darlie -- don't mix 'em. You can see the transition below from the original (left) to how they changed it after Colgate bought them out. ![]() most honrable etymology! example of Sharplton activist pressure on dragon people. Darklie make trouble! no good! except for number one good teeth! |

These are awesome. What's even more interesting is that the ads run in Chinese still are basically saying "darkie," and the tagline after Colgate bought 'em and made it more PC in the English versions is translated into something like, "Black man toothpaste is still black man toothpaste!" |

this thread has escaped it's original intent People that leave their turn signal on for miles should die. People who need a quarter mile to go from one lane to another need to have their license revoked for a year so that they can see how driving a bike sucks and being a courteous driver is a good thing. Lastly, in the summer, when a car pulls up and all I can hear is BOOM BOOM BOOM from the radio blasting PHARKRY or IDAHLATRY or PA-ROLL because my windows are down and the fuckhead driver invested his year's salary from Best Buy in car stereo upgrades from Circuit City, I think it should be totally legal if I can kill him without anyone hearing my shotgun rounds. People who want to turn left from a side street onto a busy thoroughfare who, instead of turning right and finding a reasonable place to turn around or go around the block, pull out into the path of oncoming traffic and plant themselves waiting for a hole to open. Especially during a snowstorm.

While it is annoying, I'll give the cone people a pass because sometimes the city doesn't give adequate notice of up-coming work, and some of those people might be out of towners and don't know where the hell they are, or they might have tried to sneak in earlier, but the tailgaters wouldn't let them in.

Yep, all the above plus..
People who need to come to a complete stop to take a right turn when there's nothing impeading them on a green light. People who have no concept of a 4 way stop sign cross, people who won't back down, as if their life deoended on it to let you change lanes when you absolutely have to, think coming out of exit 26 on 93 south going into storrow drive. Pedestrians which for some strange reason wait till lights turn green to start crossing the street, I've actually in many ocasions been the first car in line, waiting for a good 30sec. on a red light, looing straight into pedestrians who just sat there, and as soon as the light turned green they proceeded to cross the street. People who will ride your ass for miles honking their horns when there's hardly any traffic on the road, and you are on the far right lane, really wtf? I could go on and on... But above all, this is what pisses me off/scares me the most... People who are terrified to drive but still do |

People who are terrified to drive but still do And they'll go out in a driving snowstorm because they absolutely, positively need to go out and get that quart of milk and a scratch ticket while you and the rest of the state are on your commute to/from work. I never got the stopping on right thing as I don't get the swinging out to the right before taking a left thing. I think the crossing on green is a Harvard Square thang. Been driving in Cambridge since the mid-70s and that's the only place I've seen it happen consistently. |

I hate and fear aggressive semi drivers. My theory is that they feel they have to drive really fast on the downhills to get momentum to drive uphill. They become enraged if anyone gets in front of them when they're accelerating. I know I drive like an old lady (I have never gotten a speeding ticket) but if I'm in the middle lane doing the speed limit on an icy day, I fucking hate it when a semi driver flashes his lights and honks his horn behind me. When did they pass the law that semis can't pass in the fast lane? They always pass me on the right. I just don't like driving in the slow lane when it's icy because I don't like dealing with entering traffic from on-ramps.
I hated driving before I began this job that requires me to commute an hour each way. Now I have nightmares about it. |

I vote: "People who want to go 70 in the middle lane but casually pull over in the fast lane in an attempt to pass some one who is barely going slower than they are, forcing you (who was going 80) to hit your brakes when if that person had even cared to take the time to look in their mirror, they'd have noticed that once you'd passed, there was no one behind you and they could have moved into the lane with not a care in the world had they waited all of 10 seconds." If you are driving 80MPH you are speeding, as a matter of fact you are driving to endanger. Slow the fuck down.... Problem solved. ![]() This post has been edited by wdoa: Dec 19 2007, 09:10 AM |

You are one of those "People who are terrified to drive but still do" Funny, beacuse I always wondered :'Who are these people", because, you know, every time the topic comes up everybody is complaining about the same things, never fails, so who are these people!! Well, here you are!! |

2 pages in and the most obvious group of sucky drivers not even mentioned...the elderly. There is no second place here...elderly drivers are the absolute worst demographic on the roadways.

Teenage driver on his/her cell phone with the car stuff with other teenagers. ...still can discern the difference between the brake pedal and the gas pedal. Not saying this crew is a joy to drive next to, but the elderly are worse in my book. My wife and I laugh every time another story comes out about an elderly person driving through a building...invariably it is because "they hit the brake but the car accelerated"....shame on these auto manufacturers for deliberately selling cars to elderly folks with the pedals mixed up! |

# 1 - black women # 2 - asian dudes True, black women pay zero attention to other cars, but in a different way than Asians. Asians are simply clueless, it's like they don't even realize they're supposed to look around. Black women CHOOSE to not look around, it's an attitudinal thing, like : He need to look at me, and every time a black lady gets in an accident, they say one of two things, either, HE HIT ME!, or Dat car came out of nowhere, I never seen it! |

I vote cellphones. People pull out of sidestreets without so much as a glance, and certainly no slowing down. All the while carrying on some "important" conversation. And like someone already said, almost certainly have no idea what wreck they just nearly caused.
