I know because he made 2 separate Facebook posts about it.

Case in point why Facebook should have a "Do Not Like" button as well.

The US President wins the Nobel Peace Prize, and US Republicans are pissed about it.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? This is like complaining if the Sox win because JD Drew hit the winning Home Run instead of David Ortiz.

It's the republicans. whaddya gonna do. You're basically asking Red Sox fans to cheer a Yankees world series win because hey... at least they beat the national league.

If your wife wins a cock sucking contest at the local shelter...its not exactly a reason to crack open your favorite bottle of bubbly.

I notice not one of you has said WHY he deserves it yet.

I think the sheer ridiculousness of it is hillarious actually. To me it just proves what a fucking joke these gladhanding liberal awards are. Christ. Yassir Arafat won one. Its obvious this is more about his rebukes of Isreal than anything else he did.

Obama's election and foreign policy moves caused a dramatic improvement in the image of the U.S. around the world. A 25-nation poll of 27,000 people released in July by the Pew Global Attitudes Project found double-digit boosts to the percentage of people viewing the U.S. favorably in countries around the world. That indicator had plunged across the world under President George W. Bush.

cue GOP "Fuck the rest of the world!" outrage

It is clearly far more beneficial to us to be viewed as a country that raises a large middle finger to the world while doing whatever the fuck we please. That gets us, umm...something. I'm sure Dick Cheney could provide details.

nominations for the Nobel Prize are submitted by Feb 1. That means he had about, oh maybe two weeks as president to rack up these accomplishments. were you asleep for those two weeks, because he took the world by storm and his wife....well she's gorgeous.

While the rest of the world does.... what ever the fuck they please. It is all parlor talk this like us crap. The only people who care about it are mushy liberals. At the end of the day any nation on earth will work with us on things that are to there benefit while continuing to let us do the most of the heavy lifting in places like Afganistan.

sure...until you get an administration that manages to foment as much anti-US sentiment around the Globe as Bush/Cheney did so as to make it politically unpopular within other countries to appear to be pro-American. Elected officials elsewhere have to deal with constituents the same as our elected officials, so don't give me this bullshit that 'America Hating' abroad is meanigless.

I dunno. Leading the the most powerful country in the world away from racist partisan stupidity, and working to regain the trust of the rest of the free world while on his campaign trips around the world is a pretty good reason.

But I guess when people like living in denial and reveling in latent racist hostility, there will always be opposition to progress.

Seems kind of early in his administration to be lobbing international awards at him already, but at least creating more favorable impressions of the US around the world will give a boost to fears of an impending Islamo-Marxist world government.

As a reader of the hysterical comments sections on various news sites and blogs, I say Far Out.
