if they'd shut up and gone away in the 80s I wouldn't hate them so much. but for 20 years they've been remaking crappy versions of their own material and generally just pissing me off.

I agree with all of this... but the Mick Taylor period in the early 70's is fucking amazing and you can't take that away from them

but then he played with rod stewart, so that pass is fucking REVOKED.

as for capn bored, just the punching out mick and telling him he was charlie's singer is reason alone for digging him.

I've heard a buncha other quotes by him just as good... and then he plays in like jazz combos and shit when he isn't douching in our ears for more $$$.

The Rolling Stones gave us many many years of amazing songs and records. So what if they suck now? I just don't buy their new albums and don't bother to see them when they come to town. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy the fuck out of Between The Buttons, Exile, Sticky Fingers, Satanic Majesties, Let it Bleed,, etc. etc.

I just feel blessed that they existed in the first place. There are very very few bands that have been even 1/10th as good for 1/10th the amount of time.

no they didn't.

they gave us a few years of stuff no better than what the kinks, otis redding, the beatles, the who, the turtles, the zombies, the yardbirds, sam and dave were giving us.

and with the exception of the beatles, no one is cannonized quite like them.

they've put out a lotta crap - more post good era stones crap than the who put out post their good era...

and they aren't nearly as good as all the soul, blues, n rnb shit they mined... especially mick, a great frontman and personallity, but a slouch as anything but a blooze singer. and I HATE the blooze. but dig the blues.
