Limbaugh marks 20 years on the air with call from the Bush family


Conservative radio talker Rush Limbaugh marks twenty years on the air today. During his show this afternoon, Limbaugh received a call from the President George W. Bush, former President George H. W. Bush, and former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush. The Bush family congratulated their “pal” Limbaugh on his “twenty years of important and excellent broadcasting.” Later in their conversation, former President Bush — apparently not realizing he was on the air — asked about “our man [Roger] Ailes,” the president of Fox News:

H. W. BUSH: Do you see our man Ailes at all?

LIMBAUGH: Oh, yeah. I saw Roger at Tony Snow’s funeral…And a couple of times earlier this summer.

H. W. BUSH: Are we on the radio, are we? […] I didn’t know that. I’ll clean up my act here. I’m glad they told me.

The fact that 95% of the time,important stories such as Hersh's statement about Cheney
wanting to dress up navy seals as Iraqi's and shoot at them to hasten a conflict with Iraq,goes basically unnoticed illustrates this very well.

Correct. There's really no need to argue about it anymore. The only truly leftist propaganda organizations are online entities like MoveOn.org. Reasonable people, or "liberals", as crazy people have been calling them for the last ten years or so, seem to be clinging desperately to the notion that common sense and straight reporting will somehow prevail. Not such a good outlook there.

The bottom line is that there will always be a contingent of Americans that will succumb to outrageous lies and misdirection if you yell loudly enough, and will eventually just believe your arguments hold weight because they've heard them so many times. These people will always be the target of the kind of people who make up the current Republican party (note that I say "current", as I'm still hopeful), and will probably vote accordingly. Personally, I'm surprised they've let it slide that "Obama" rhymes with "Osama". Although come to think of it, a Fox "News" commentator once "accidentally" said "Barack Osama".

Whatever - they'll believe what they want to believe, and the rest of the world will laugh a sad and somewhat horrified laugh. Hopefully, the joke is no longer funny enough to keep them in a position of power. We'll see.

They "slip" that up all the time. Steve Doocey on FoxNews tends to use Obama's middle name with emphasis on a fairly regular basis ("tonight, Barack HUSSEIN Obama is on the trail in...")
