I don't have time to look up how much the GOP has made off of Fannie/Freddie during the 14 years they were in control, but i'm assuming it's probably a LOT more than what the dems have gotten. However, in the case of oversight and regulations, it seems like Fannie/Freddie actually got something for their money since deregulation happened and the morgage firms were allowed to run wild in the market. It's not the donation... it's the quid pro quo |

Distortion of the truth. Obama received donations from EMPLOYEES of fannie and freddie. The Republicans are trying to frame it like he got donations from the company. He didn't. In reality, McCain got more money from executives and board level employees than Obama got from the little people from those companies.

Not to mention, that link says NOTHING. All it says is that there was a bill to "address the regulation of secondary mortgage market enterprises". It doesn't say how it addressed those. Get back to us with more. For all that tells me, it addressed the regulations by relaxing them.
