With the exception of "Terminator" (where the second is my favorite but I love the first and like the third) and "Godfather" (where the first is my favorite but I love the second) the first movies are the only ones I like in these series.

I voted for New Hope in the Star Wars category..because it will always be my favorite...however, I think Empire has the best story line, cinematography, and overall was the most well made.

The Alien movies, and the Halloween movies were next on the list, but I was only able to put up 5 categories...unless I am retarded and didn't realize I could put up more. |

The Alien movies, and the Halloween movies were next on the list, but I was only able to put up 5 categories...unless I am retarded and didn't realize I could put up more. Ya fergot JAWS lol Yeah it's hard for STAR WARS with me, having seen it first in '77 the night before it's release in Boston on a 'sneak peak' that showed a workprint(featuring the excised Luke / Biggs meeting on Yavin 4's moon before the Death Star assault), that film just changed me forever in the same way hearing/seeing the Sex Pistols did that same year. A NEW HOPE in that original form certainly was one of THE most perfectly crafted, enjoyable films so it's also hard because EMPIRE was sooo damned cool, like a Wampa's ice cave. I love the prequels(yes, even EPISODE I but I want to see it re-cut & the Yoda scenes done in CG) primarily because of my interest of Anakin Skywalker as much more interesting character than Luke's arc. ALIEN(which I also saw in the same Beantown theater as EPISODE IV on another ADVANCE preview), sharpened my cinematic focus that film could be as enjoyable both as a fantastical art project but having a much more realistic feel. MAD MAX also came along that year & in that same way as Ridley's gothic horror masterpiece had REALISM but having also used the Joseph Campbell 'Power of the Myth' model Lucas used for the Skywalker clan storyline HALLOWEEN/ FRIDAY THE 13TH, etc. never, ever was something I got into(even though I have watched hundreds of thousands bad gore/slasher flicks) because I have never found serial killers appealing in film or even in true crime stories. |

I would've busted the Star Wars movies into two categories - old and new. That said, it's Empire by a wide margin (although if there were two categories, Sith would've gotten the other vote)

The 1st three Rocky movies were good. Stallone shoulda stopped there.
Godfather II was the best of the 3, IMO. I'm not into Raiders or Star Wars-I've only seen the first of the series on both of them. I liked the Terminator series-hard to choose between the three so I put me vote in for 1. |

You bitch slapped Lando, Han, Luke.....just about everyone in Empire...good stuff....almost made up for killing all those little toddlers in Sith you big meanie. Yes, it's true, I ruled with an iron fist(literally), but I also gave so much. I gave the universe stability and consistently.. Day in and day out people knew what they got. People had respect for authority, and they knew if they stepped out of line they got bitchslapped(like Lando, and Han etc...) The killing of harmless jedi children was regrettable, but that was a very difficult time for me....with Palpatine manipulating me more than I knew at the time. |

GREMLINS 2 gets big UPS if only for using Faith No More's 'Surprise, You're Dead'! that's one of the best movie scenes EVER ! the Gremlins are raising hell at the bar, getting drunk, shooting each other, smoking cigars, breaking glasses, pouring beer from the taps directly into their mouths, etc. and that song is playing in the background |

Speaking of Shredders... why aren't the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies in this poll? |
