Trying to get through my Freshman year of High School. Winning "Most improved player" on the Freshman basketball team. I sucked, and then sucked slightly less. Probably getting fired from my bus boy job on Sat nights, because I bailed early one night to make it to a party.

2nd semester freshman at MassArt - living in the prison like dorm they used to have on Huntington (now it belongs to Wentworth). Falling in love with every "alternative" art school girl I see even though I had a girlfriend back home. Blasting off after eating dinner in the cafeteria every night. Pulling the shades and watching the Simpsons on a 13" black & white TV. Drinking too much (bonding with my roommate - we're still friends), studying too little. Building up student loan debt that I'm still paying on. I think I saw Mr. Bungle that year.

Incidentally, I just found out that the cute Korean girl on whom I had a major crush that year recently got her citizenship, joined the army, and is now in Iraq.

Ah- nice. Synaethesia had a pretty good following out there. I saw 'em once and thought they could definitely play but they weren't really my thing- I was hitting all the punk and metal shows.

I saw them at some party in Amherst in the early 90s... I don't remember much because I was beginning to dabble in drinking beer, but I remember being impressed that there was a real band playing at some house party.

you can get away with that stuff out in the country...

they were playing locally a few years ago as the "Fighting Idols" and had switched to more of a Radiohead sound, don't know what they're up to now

On my birthday, March 13, 12 years ago, we played with FEAR at Irving Plaza in NYC. Opening up was this new shitty pop-punk band from CA-
Blink 182.
