astoundingly idiotic
a nightmare of, as far as I can see, inestimable proportions. 14-68. can someone convince me I'm not correct in these projections? Jesus Christ, Ainge. |

If he hadn't given up Delonte, this wouldn't have bothered me.
But he did. Shithead. |

what happened?
ESPN's coverage is utterly confusing, though it's website is even less informative. boston.com and celtics.com haven't been updated either. please help! |

14-68. I'm not saying this was a great move long term, but on paper the Celts could not be worse this year. Allen has been scoring 25 PPG the last couple of years and trending up. West, Wally, and the #5 for Allen. I'm sure West and Wally were thrown in to cover the salary requirement. |

If he hadn't given up Delonte, this wouldn't have bothered me. But he did. Shithead. Exactly. Giving up Delonte was what hurt me the most too. Allen is, certainly was, great, but he's 32 and you're giving up the 5th pick in a draft many consider one of the best in a long time. Lotta talent, hard to project it all of course, but a lot of talent still left when they were going to pick. I felt that Delonte was the true leader on the team -- pretty quietly, but very effectively. He fed Jefferson the ball countless times. That's all gone now. I see Pierce and Allen, Ray, being too much the same player and it all just basically falling apart. Hope I'm wrong! |

The radio is saying they're not done with this deal. Saying that Al and Ratliff for Garnett still possible.

The radio is saying they're not done with this deal. Saying that Al and Ratliff for Garnett still possible. Interesting. If that happens then in my opinion they will have traded their best 2 young players -- Delonte and Al, guys who could have helped the Celts every night for the next 10 years or so, for all-stars past their prime. (not sure about Garnett, he could still be in his prime). My gut doesn't like it. I so much wish he'd gutted out sticking with the young guys he'd developed, and maybe Al will stick around. I just don't see the chemistry working with these guys. I think he's flushing the future down the drain but I realize I may partially just be venting over losing Delonte and that 5th pick. I know my enthusiasm about following them has declined dramatically. |

The radio is saying they're not done with this deal. Saying that Al and Ratliff for Garnett still possible. The radio is wrong. Al and Ratliff for KG won't happen. Al and Ratliff (and others I'm looking at You, Scal!) To Minny, KG to Phoenix, Stoudamire to C's might, since he's the only guy mentioned in these trade rumors that hasn't said "No Fucking WAY I'm going to boston." |

I would be completely okay with that trade. I don't think it will happen though. That would be a real dumb move on Phoenix's part unless they feel Garnett just gets them a championship. I mean if we could pull that off and have Pierce, Allen and Stoudamire that would be pretty awesome. Who the hell is our power forward though at that point? |

From the interview I saw with Phoenix coach, or GM, whatever he is, Mike D'Antoni, I didn't get the feeling that they were going to get rid of Stoudamire.
And I just read that Ray Allen had surgery on both ankles in April. Awesome. A big thing for me is that it felt like the team really liked and looked up to Delonte and the demoralizing crash that will come with his departure will have real (bad) consequences, I predict. All that said, if Ray Allen is healthy, and can play with Pierce and Rondo turns out to be as good as he sometimes showed he could be, and other stuff happens -- Al continues to be excellent, Gerald Green and Gomes keep developing, Tony Allen somehow returns healthy, there is hope. The USC guard, Pruitt, intrigues me as well. Looks like an athlete and a shooter. The LSU guy, Big Baby, is quite the wide body with a decent shot for a guy built like that but I have my doubts about him in the NBA. |

Just heard elsewhere that reportedly Green, Ratliff are going to Utah for AK-47 Andrei Kirilenko and Utah's 2008 # 1 pick.

trading Gerald Green????
the horror would escalate and deepen. You never know how much substance there is to these rumors. But it seems to me that you simply DO NOT trade Gerald Green. I'm starting to think the Celtics brass is insane. Clinically, legally, factually. That or just unspeakably stupid. This is all opinion of course. |

Actually, it looks like the Kevin Garnett sweepstakes has reopened for Boston now, since Wally is off the books, and Allen is in the picture, Boston is now a possible destination for KG.
Perkins/Garnett/Pierce/Allen/Rondo will absolutely decimate the East. |

Remember when he bit ATL's Tree Rollins - ah, Danny Ainge. Everyone remembers this wrong. Rollins actually bit Ainge. And I don't seem to be in the majority on Green. Last year he was one of, if not THE worst defensive player in the league. You don't notice it as much until you watch him in person and you can see how often he's in the wrong spot and just looks completely clueless out there. And I'm also worried about him turning into a Jason Richardson "I only shoot 3s when I'm the most atheltic guy on the floor and not even that good of a 3-point shooter." To me, his value is good as a trading chip right now. |
