Yep. Got those w/all the hardware sitting in my garage. Hmmm...... You wouldn't happen to have a pic of them by chance? Or are they just kind of "U" shaped? Would you know what they measurement across the holes is? AND-uh (llike you couldn't tell) Would you want to sell them? |

AND-uh (llike you couldn't tell) Would you want to sell them? I don't have good answers, measurements or pics but I can get some tonight. I'm happy to sell them if you want/need them. I don't go in for that sort of thing so they're just taking up space. I can even throw in some really heinous leather grips w/tassles. |

I'll have to check with Ms. Millie about the tassles. I found her some pretty cool old saddle bags (I didn't know there was such a thing either) but she still needs the brackets. I just gotta measure where they mount but I'd imagine its pretty universal. If you're up for selling them & provided they'll work, I'd be happy to take them off your hands. |

Well, there's nothing at all classic about these. They're just really clunky, black brackets with a locking mechanism. Kinda like those Easy Brackets dealies. Anyway, if they're of any use to you then you get dibs. |

I only have the one the previous owner posted when the bike was for sale. Not very flattering: ![]() I've since removed all of the ridiculous leather accessories, including those gawdawful saddlebags. The paint should go first, then the rest. What you want to do is actually pretty inexpensive. You can have the bike exactly the way you want it for relatively short dough. |

The color's actually not as bad as that photo makes it seem but I'm still not thrilled with it. Ballpark, how much do you think I'd be looking at for everything I described plus paint? Harvey Mushman does these kinds of mods in his sleep, so his estimate might be better than mine, but - Straight bars are cheap. Under $50. A riser - also cheap unless you have to have a set made. You'll need new cables, or possibly need the existing cables modified. Cables are around $20 each, but if you need them trimmed to spec, that'll run around $200. Turn signals. Depends on how fancy you want to get. $50-$100/pr. Footrests also depend on how fancy you want to get. Mirrors are super cheap. $15. I don't understand what the problem is with ditching the rear seat and backrest. It should just unbolt from the fender. Paint. If you want flat black, do it yourself. If you send it out, the whole job should be around $400, as flat black is the cheapest and easiest paint a shop can apply. Unbolt the parts you want to replace and head out to a aftermarket parts store. They'll help you match up exactly what you want. |

I don't understand what the problem is with ditching the rear seat and backrest. It should just unbolt from the fender. The issue is that there's wiring hidden under the seat that would have to be relocated, and that underneath the rear seat looks like this: I would want that smoothed out, filled & painted. |

What you're after shouldn't be too hard or too much dough.
You'd be surprised how much junk is on the bike that you don't really need and can just jettison. I've got a "metric" J&P catalog somewhere that will let you see how much stuff is available but most of it you can find on e-bay or other parts sources. As far as that rear fender goes you may be better off getting another, "blank" one as opposed to shaving and filling that one. It'd just be much better. The wiring....there's plenty of other ways to run it....under the fender is fine. |
