Spoliers below if you plan on seeing it...

Just watched it and... puke.gif puke.gif

The glee in which Azami dismembers the father is just disturbing...the sound of the wire almost made me hoark...nearly worse was the shot from outside the window, when she threw the foot against the window...

and the puke in the dog dish? THe dude in the sack?!?

WTF did I just watch?!

this is another case of dvd packaging that kind of ruins the movie...(sort of like having the statue of liberty on the PLANET OF THE APES dvd)...

i would love it if they marketed that movie as a romantic comedy, so that people would check it out expecting one thing and getting an other!

i saw AUDITION at the brattle during its first boston showing...every review i had tried to read said "don't read this if you want to be surprised...yadda yadda." so of course i tried to avoid every spoiler i could....

this led me to REALLY enjoying the movie....

the scene with the bag moving nearly made me jump out of my seat...

great movie....

I think I jumped a mile when that happened- what was with dude in the wheelchair at the dance studio? Did she put him in the wheelchair? If so, how did he survive her? Totally fucked up movie! I had my hands over my eyes for the last 20 minutes of the movie.

Excellent movie and shows that Miike isn't just all about the gore. I loved the way the first hour or so of the film just lures you in. It makes you think you are watching a melodrama about human nature, loneliness, and the need to conect with people...and then blaaammmoo!!!!! What a fuckin ending...still the thought of those needles sends shivers up my spine and the look on her face as she is sawing off the foot....

I watched this back to back with Happiness of the Katakhuris and was terrified all the was thru the latter coz I was just expecting something...anything to come and gobble me up.

Another Takashi Miike film, but not really in the vein of his ridiculously gorey masochistic movies like Audition and Ichi The Killer.

It's the most bizarre, weird wee movie I have ever seen. I don't really want to give away any plot, all I can say is that it is about a Japanese family who move to the country side and buy a guest house in the hope that a new highway will be built nearby and bring tourist Yen. But I can't give a decent explanation without taking away from the film.

I don't think i have spelt the title right, but it should be easy enough to find online.

If you like a unique movie experience I'd say go for it, but don't read the blurb or anything coz you won't be as pleasantly suprised once it gets going
