I forget what I put on this thing now. I deleted the playlist by accident. I do remember that I put Witness on there, Metallica covering Motorhead, some SBC, forget cassettes, and fugazi. After that I'm drawing a blank. If anyone has any questions about the bands, I can probably answer them.

Nice work, this is probably my favorite, but that is to be expected as our tastes are somewhat aligned. I will be spending more time with this mix.

So, another mix of stuff that I really like. This is not generally music that I buy or play much, but I like what you have here. The first few tracks stand out for me. Also the one with the woman singing. Nice!

I had to play the Bill Hicks twice....needed a laught this afternoon : ) Thanks Frank. Forget Cassettes is from Nashville. I heard them on WMBR and was floored. Looked them up, downloaded a couple of mp3's, became addicted, bougt both CDs that day. I play these guys a lot. It's mainly beth Cameron's band. She started it with this kid Doni who went on to play with Trail of The Dead. The first record is just the two of them. So, Doni joins AYWKUBTTOTD and Beth recruits these two other dudes for the second record. The bass player also played keys at this point. Then, those dudes leave and Doni returns. Still waiting for the third record. They toured Europe as a 2 piece. Nice work, this is probably my favorite, but that is to be expected as our tastes are somewhat aligned. I will be spending more time with this mix. Thanks homie. Duncan Wilder's Noiseboard Mix - Playlist 1. Slug - Only Living Witness 2. Too Late Too Late - Metallica 3. Cancer Rat - Bison 4. Locked Unit '98 - Sam Black Church 10. Mouse - Red Animal War 11. Memories of Tomorrow - Slayer 12. Don't Lose Touch - Against Mel - 13. The Sanctity of Life - Bill Hicks Thanks dude. Red Animal War is this now defunct band from Austin, TX that I met in Europe in '03 while touring with Garrison and Sunfactor. So, another mix of stuff that I really like. This is not generally music that I buy or play much, but I like what you have here. The first few tracks stand out for me. Also the one with the woman singing. Nice! Thanks Undude. See above for info on Forget Cassetts (the one with the woman singing). |

One listen in, impressions:
I am not very knowledgeable about this field of music......but have been curious about it, as I grew up liking hard rock. There just seem to be so many bands playing really heavy music and I knew a lot of it I didn't particularly like, but at the same time I figured there were bands that I would like.....if I could just find them. Favorites were: Only Living Witness, the Metallica tune; and the tune that really rocked my world in a joyous manner was the SAM BLACK CHURCH SONG! YEEAAHHH!! In the category of pleasing/interesting/different I put: the Fugazi and Forget Cassette songs. Thanks. |

That song is a song that they jammed and always had different beginnings and endings over the years. This one being the '98 version. The Metallica tune is a Motorhead cover in case you didn't know. Yes, Fugazi and Forget Cassettes - interesting and different here. other notes: OLW - again, can't go wrong Cancer Rat - Bison - Vancouver BC band, ex members of Skateboarding Totally Rules and Everything Else Totally Sucks (STREETS) Lean on Sheena - Bouncing Souls - actually written by Joe Gittelmen of Bosstones fame, originally performed with Avoid One Thing, covered by the Souls Bad Scene, Everyone's Fault - Jawbreaker - just one of my favorite JB songs Memories of Tomorrow - Slayer - Slayer covering Suicidal Tendencies - again can't go wrong. |
