Trying to get through my Freshman year of High School. Winning "Most improved player" on the Freshman basketball team. I sucked, and then sucked slightly less. Probably getting fired from my bus boy job on Sat nights, because I bailed early one night to make it to a party.

2nd semester freshman at MassArt - living in the prison like dorm they used to have on Huntington (now it belongs to Wentworth). Falling in love with every "alternative" art school girl I see even though I had a girlfriend back home. Blasting off after eating dinner in the cafeteria every night. Pulling the shades and watching the Simpsons on a 13" black & white TV. Drinking too much (bonding with my roommate - we're still friends), studying too little. Building up student loan debt that I'm still paying on. I think I saw Mr. Bungle that year.
Incidentally, I just found out that the cute Korean girl on whom I had a major crush that year recently got her citizenship, joined the army, and is now in Iraq. This post has been edited by Hook Operator: Mar 25 2008, 10:40 AM |

no, Essex County Greenbelt the guys in Synaethesia were buddies of ours though Ah- nice. Synaethesia had a pretty good following out there. I saw 'em once and thought they could definitely play but they weren't really my thing- I was hitting all the punk and metal shows. This post has been edited by Defbil: Mar 25 2008, 12:42 PM |

I saw them at some party in Amherst in the early 90s... I don't remember much because I was beginning to dabble in drinking beer, but I remember being impressed that there was a real band playing at some house party. you can get away with that stuff out in the country... they were playing locally a few years ago as the "Fighting Idols" and had switched to more of a Radiohead sound, don't know what they're up to now |
