All depends on the type of music. For metal/thrash, Barry hands down. But I wouldn't expect him to be a killer rock drummer, maybe he is, I dunno, he doesn't play in rock bands, or at least I've never seen him in one.
I don't think you can really compare him to say, Kevin Pickering, and I'll bet you Kevin Pickering couldn't play metal/thrash 1/10th as well as Barry or 20 other drummers in town, but Kevin is great too. Jack Clark is a beast! Historically, probably my favorite. |

All depends on the type of music. This is very true. And I probably should have said so up front. Dustin plays those huge rock beats that make hair grow on your nuts. Like Phil Rudd or Tommy Lee. That's the kind of playing that does it for me. Of course, he did pretty well on that Blood for Blood album that he drummed on too. Anyway, I got this ringer of a singer and I'm assembling a band for her. She sings in The Unloved with us but she's stuck singing harmonies when she's capable of singing like Bob Plant on the leads. So I got a guitarist and a bass player but I need someone to hammer the skins. I'm getting moist just thinking of the possibilities that could come of this. |

Unbeknownst to many, Chris Brat just might be Boston's best drummer. And seeing that he is only in six other bands right now (to be fair, two of those six are "on hiatus"), I believe he has a vacancy. I would recommend that you ask him about it in person, tonight, at Harper's Ferry, at approximately 10pm. |

Noah from Furvis/The Dead Trees. Crazy energy, like a reincarnation of Keith Moon. Too bad they moved to Portland, OR. (They're back in town on the 17th at the Paradise.)

Mark, You might want to check out Steve Hart, Mike Peil, Mike Laveque or Kevin Pickering. Barry Speilberg (x-Wargasm...now Gozu)...especially if this is for recording with your brother and any sick doublekick stuff is needed. Janota can bring it all as well, and he's a great dude. Barry Spillberg is also in MOB HIT. Here is a link to his (our) stuff: MOB HIT Sorry for the self-promotion....well...not really |
