I was looking for images to put into the random image thread and came across this dudes website.
It's pretty cool to watch the progress time line of his truck.

Check it out here.

My first car was a 67 C-10.
I won't start on the whole "Rat Rod" thing.

Meh...its just a term TV shows & magazines came up with.

Sort of like "Bobber"

Everyone uses it to make themselves feel like they know what they are talking about.

If I start ranting my head will s'plode.

Those things are neat...I have a customer with one.

Actually, now that I think of it...I looked at one before I bought my Buick.

It was real nice but a mess underneath.

There is a dude near me who is selling a 64 rambler for 850

This car is in great shape to, wonder why so cheap? Hard to get parts maybe? I was thinking of picking it up just for the hell of it. Not a muscle car, but I could chop it up and make it look cool.

As for the truck that this thread is about-- I don't know, man. I know a rat road when I see one, and this just doesn't fit my definition. (Only my opinion, so calm down.) It sure as hell is an ugly truck, and it has some of the characteristics of a rat rod, with the exception that it isn't really a "rod" at all, just kind of a clapped-out truck. The whole rat-rod phenomenon is out of hand, in any case-- people are spending lots of money to build (or have someone build for them) hot rods that look rusted, thrown-together, and otherwise "trad." A REAL rat-rod is ratty because it was built using whatever parts and resources were available. Take a good look at the history of hot-rodding-- you don't see many of these junkers. Rodders have always taken pride in making their rides look as clean as possible using whatever resources they had at their disposal. Using a mailbox as an air-intake is cool if that was all you could afford-- using one because it is in keeping with the rat-rod aesthetic is bullshit.

If your vehicle is rust-covered and you own a sander and some Bondo, what the fuck is the point of leaving the rust there? What's wrong with sanded-down bare-metal, or Bondo shot with primer? Not a thing, IMO.
