arsenalARTS presents PLAY IN THE BLACK BOX , a new intimate showcase of a diverse line-up of “see them now” musicians from around New England; music in the series will range from acoustic to pop, rock to reggae, blues and jazz. According to the Arsenal Center for the Arts' Executive Director, Sharon Glennon, “we are excited that the first four evenings will feature sounds from Berklee College of Music’s very talented “rising stars” and we hope that any interested young musicians contact arsenalARTS (info@arsenalarts.org) about future dates.” In 2005, Dan Bowden (guitars) and Bob Christopherson (Piano and Voice) joined forces to explore the great Pre-war piano/guitar groups, leading them to the music of Leroy Carr, Scrapper Blackwell and Tampa Red. When vocalist Minden Jones auditioned with her repertoire of Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Pinchback Blues was born. Come listen and you'll say "Yas, Yas, Yas"! http://www.myspace.com/pinchbackblues The Arsenal Center for the Arts/Black Box is located at 321 Arsenal St. in Watertown.
